Need a fix for Performance Anxiety

all good stuff here. Thanks for the help. Decided to take a week off, and I already can't wait to get back on the table. Going to put all of this to good use and expect better results.

I been taking balls out and sinking them for a couple hours on sundays. (league is on tuesday)..That also seems to help.

Read post #13 and click on the link he provides. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?p=2297789&highlight=performance+anxiety#post2297789

Reading down in that thread, the link might not work on some browsers. Try using IE to view it. If you still can't view it, try pm Joe. He hasn't posted in a while, but might still read . His article was very good.

That link isn't active.... try this one.

Pool is physically demanding at times....."you can't have the mental without the physical"

I don't really find "pool" to be exhausting physically. I mean hey, it just isn't. I find doing anything hour after hour leads to becoming tired eventually. If I am shooting seriously, It is more challenging to keep my mind sharp as I grow tired than to lift my 18. oz cue and go through the motion of shooting pool. In thirty years of play, I honestly have never broken a sweat from shooting pool. it just isn't that kind of game. I would guess that I have probably broken a sweat over the mental stress it has caused me a few times during some games that were very important to me.

You're right, the current way pool is played isn't mentally or physically exhausting.

Start playing the "two foul" rules and you'll find that the game will immediately get much more intense.

Even competing at 8 Ball {by the original rules} becomes more of a mental and physical battle.
