Need a Schon Value

This is a Schon I have. (Sorry the pictures aren't sharper) It's not for sale, but can someone give me a value of this cue? It also has one matching Schon shaft, and two predator 3 shafts. Thanks much. Also, if anyone can tell me the model #, there's some rep in it for you. Thanks.

Neil,

I would say you have a Schon SL-3 or 4.

It has got to be the SL-4 as that is the one that has multiple veneers in the points.

As for value, I'd say it should be around $750-820 with all 3 shafts and in perfect condition rather unplayed than played. I'm guessing this because I assume that it would go for $450-500 with only the Schon shaft - unplayed.

If the shafts are played and it is slightly used I'd guess that it still would make at around $600 even in this rather low market - i.e. where the prices are rather going down than up.

I wonder what the more experienced AZB users think about this.

EDIT: Very nice cue by the way! I have had an STL-4 and it was a dream cue. I still see it around here and play with it whenever I can give it a few shots.

Anybody know the value of it?

edit: we posted the same time, but you were a little faster!

Neil, to me that'd be a 600.00 cue with the Schon shaft.. I wouldn't care if it was played with or not so long as everything was straight (within reason, all cues have a little roll out). With the 2 predator shafts 700 - 750.00.

As for being played or unplayed I did not mean to say chalked or unchalked but rather dinged or not. I never go crazy over a cue with a chalked shaft but I am fussy about the overall condition of the cue.

From a Gates Billiards Catalog and price sheet 10/1/97
SL-4 655.00 retail 524.00 your price

Not sure what the value of a pred 3 shaft is but if it has a line above the collar like the one in the picture they were seconds

As far as I can tell the Predator shaft pictured screwed on the butt is a 314(1) shaft that is B-sortierung - if I am not mistaken. There were A-sortierung (spelling?) and B-~ shafts in the first generation of 314 shafts. The B-class shafts were those that have had a sugar mark or other mineral streak / mark in the wood and for this reason these were cheaper shafts than the 'normal' or standard 314 shafts. However there was no difference in playability, the only difference is merely aesthetical.
