First off sorry so long! :sorry:
I for the past few weeks have been trying to find a way to take what ever value I have invested in my 2 60" cues and transfer that to at least one 58". Let me explainn this a little better. I decided a short time ago that over all I will be happier with a standard lenghth cue. Please don't turn this thread into why I should have kept my cues. So I thought "this time I will take my time and make sure the decision I make will make me happy for years to come" So I posted in the wanted/for sale that I am selling/trading my 2 60" cues. I was getting all kinds of offers. But I wasn't really getting anything that made me want to give up my 2 beauties. magix said he'd trade me a mint Schon R2 straight up. He even sent it to me on credit and said if you like it, keep it. Well I can't say how much I appreciate it when people trust me like this because my whole life i worked to build trust. Well it was a tough decision and I eventually gave it back.
Bottom line I really wanted a cue with a 314-2 shaft (maker wasn't a big deal). I eventually decided to see what i could get for my cues individually. So I found someone with a cue that had a 314-2 (no stock extra shaft). The description was a bit vague. But it did say and this and this is a direct quote (name with held).
"4 Point Joss cue with 2nd generation predator 314 shaft. I believe this is an early 90s cue. The cue is in excellent condition. It was recently refinished and does not have any dings or dents on it. There are a couple very blemishes at the very bottom of the cue. You have to look really hard to see them but I just want to reveal everything. I can email pics but it tells me the file is too big to load on here. If anyone can help me with that, I would appreciate that too. Looking for Trades or cash $350"
Well the first thing I noticed when I took the butt out of the packet was it looked like this person was playing drums with it between shots. There are so many little dings in the butt forearm that it makes me feel that every cue I ever sold/traded with one tiny imperfection was "showroom" condition. I didn't even get to the shaft, but the first thing I saw when i pulled it from the wrapping was" wow, is this a Z shaft?" The thing was so narrow, way more then I have ever shot with, or felt comfortable using. I measured it; 11.9mm. I checked Predator, voids the warranty after 12.25mm.
So now I have a butt forearm that looks like it was a chew toy and a shaft that was turned down by someone who obviously didn't know better. The cue I trade with2 shafts one OB-1 and the stock shaft was in about 90% condition.
The Josey is probably laughing at me wonder how I could make such a bonehead decision. Well it's easy, I didn't know what I was getting.
When I asked the person if they had the shaft turned down they said and once again I quote again.
The shaft was turned down to a 12.5. I had completely forgot about that and you never asked what diameter the shaft was which would have made me remember that I had it turned down when I first bought it. The PM that I had sent you is below and I tried to be as honest as possible. I'm sorry that you don't like it.
why would anyone ask; a Predator is know to be 12.75mm. Sure we all turn shafts down from time to time but I would have never guess to even ask if this was turned down to the point of noticeable.
I should probaly add this person insisted that I send my cue first. Then when they get it they will send theirs. At the time I had no iTrader points (since then I contact all my old deals and now have 7 (well 8 it Varney ever gives his
)
I need the assurance that if I ask for my cue in return I am not out of line.
Thanks in advance!
