Hi,
For those who have been to the US open many times, would you please give me some advice on what is the best seat tickets to get? This is my first time, and I will be flying there from Canada (tuesday to sunday). I would like to have the best experience possible and do not mind spending the $500 if it is well worth the money. But, I will be missing 2 days of the event. Thanks again for the help.

you most definitely want to buy the reserved seats at the main (tv) table. Not so much of a need during the weekdays and afternoons, as it is less crowded. But for the evening sessions and on the weekend when it gets more crowded. it is very nice to have a good seat at the main table that is reserved for you. and of course the main table has a lot of "feature" matches played on it well before the semis and finals begin.

I have been to the Open every year since '98 and have never bought VIP seats...no need. During the early parts of the week there are a lot of matches you would not mind missing, but when it gets to Thursday the quality increases dramatically as the champions take control of the event. There are too many matches in the arena to limit yourself to the VIP section.

Even during the Semis and the Finals you can still see the table quite easily from the "cheap" seats.

Others may disagree, but I have never missed viewing a great match because I did not have VIP passes, and I am usually there for the entire week.

Anyway, you're sure to have a great time either way...and conserve your energy to be prepared to be up all night at Q-Masters watching the gambling action. It is not something you want to miss...world champs betting large sums of money...can be quite a thrill.
