Need EXTRA SPACE, 4x8 case. OR?

I delved into a 4x8 Butterfly case, filling it up is WAY THE HECK TO TIGHT. All that pressure I fear will warp the shafts.
A 30" shaft fits without protectors, with not unless I open the sleeve... which is pointless.

I'm not interested in spending Beaucoup bucks, tho JB's are good looking, my retirement budget has been hit HARD so maybe $150 is about tops.
What case has a little more space AND will fit 32" shafts?
BTW: I've seen a few 5x10 and 6x12 cases but that search is out, high prices.

I have 30" shafts on a couple of my custom cues.
I took an old Instroke to a leather shop and had them rebuild/ rewrap the bottom of the case so they would fit easily. I remember the work was cheap too. Very happy with it even though it no longer leaves the house.

I was considering a 'Bump-out' at the bottom that had a hard insert for protection. Photo-shopped it, looked a little hokey.
I can handle that but don't have the same material as the case.

They just wrapped it with a similar color. For about $30 I got the sloppy/crushed bottom repaired AND extended to fit the longer cues.
Not a show-stopper by any means but good enough for its purpose.

That actually looks fine.
Gives me an idea for a free standing case, leaning against a wall get'n old not to mention table space waste.

What brand of case did you buy? I know someone that bought a cheap butterfly case and it was pretty short, so that even normal 29" shafts just barely fit end to end. You may be just out of luck with getting something on the cheap end unless someone knows of one that is wider than most on the low end. I think also the issue is that many of the vendors list outside dimensions of the case but not inside usable space.
 
where do you go that you need 4 butts and 8 shafts to play. just asking as im curious why so many need to carry a ton of equipment.

I have a lot of things I pick up I like to have on hand, for example I just found sitting in a corner of a back room in the pool hall a break/jump Cuetec cue I have in my bag, along with my normal break/jump cue, and my playing cue with 3 shafts for that. My 3x6 case is pretty much 100% filled all the time. Plus, if I have anything extra around that I want to sell or just keep on hand for loaners or have players try out at the pool hall (say one of the 20 people that are looking for new stuff all the time LOL). I just bought a new shaft so I have that with me along with my other shafts. Someone may have a cue for certain games also, say a dedicated 3C cue, or a lighter cue they like for one pocket vs something else for 9 ball.

I can see just some more or less normal player not needing anything past a 2x4 but many of us on here are not normal by any means hehe.

What I find odd is that people buy giant SUVs and trucks 3 times the normal size that never are used for what they are built for. 99 % of the time giant Tahos and Suburbans are carrying some housewife to get a latte at Starbucks. Or some dude in a lifted truck with mud wheels that only goes off road when they drive over their lawn. Way worse than someone having an extra spot for a cue LOL
 
i can see the big cars and trucks. thats what i do. for the main reason if someone t-bones or head-on hits me i win. at least i hope so.

okay with the cues for you, i can understand your position on that. but for me for 60 years of playing and all for cash ive always traveled with one cue and one shaft. never needed anything else.

although with jumps now, i guess a jump cue is in the bag. but when i play i specify no jump cues.

Check the link for pictures: I have a JB 4x8 butterfly case. I tend to use my 2x3 more often, but the 4x8 has plenty of room when I need it. Even full of cues there is some extra space to add stuff. The cues are super secure but don't seem over tight. Because JB Cases are custom you can have them over size the outer shell a bit if you want.

It's a J&J. looked good, priced reasonable, even downloaded the pix & lightened up to see it better.
There was spare space both top & bottom where I could open up for longer shafts with joint protectors.
With those minor adjustments a 32' shaft would fit with a space for firm foam to protect the tips.
. . . Until the REFUND goes through, that's all I'll say for now.

He's looking for $150 or less. He'll need to look for a different chicom case maker for that.
 
ICZW and Gator/Champion/Instroke all around 100 @ Amazon.

Search 4x8 cue case in Sports and Outdoors. Don't know if they'll do 32".
 
A perfect 4x8 cue bag isn't my top priority, like I posted Gun Cases can work.
I take several cues since 1 or 3 doesn't cover my abilities (no brag, just fact). My normal playing cue I highly frown using to masse due to extreme side loads. Then neither playing cue plays quite right for my game of "Caroms with Points" on pocket tables.
I spoze a 4x8 case will suffice since it can hold 5x7 or 6x6 cues but it needs to have spare space.
BTW: I skim looked at JB Custom bag at my specs... can I borrow a Money Tree?

I looked at those, contemplated a short while but it opens at one end like a regular 1x1 or 1x2 cue bag.

I had a 3x6 hard case, was OK until I needed more room.
The larger ones do get heavy.

I have a cheap 3x6 doesn't go anywhere. Just stores three steel jointed cues. Also cheap. I like those styrofoam liners. The case can fall over and nothing happens to the cues. I've forgotten my 2x4 in the car as well a couple times and no warpage. Good enough for me.

OH MAN . . . 1990s I had whittled a wood case from a select grain Cherry 1x4 doubled to a 2x4 for 2 cues.
Made hidden brass hinges and recessed spring loaded hasps. On the hasps I engraved the 8 & 9 ball racks.
Handle was leather 5 weaved strap that was also recessed. Sitting on a table it looked like a piece of 2x4.
I hand made polished brass tools. In the handle a Nickel dia. sander, other side a dimple hammer. A porcupine poker, etc..

Went home & did a QUICK 'P'. In a mere 1.5 mins truck door lock punched in & case gone, among other things. (GRRRR)
