as everybody on here knows, i am really cue stupid when it comes to collector cue prices. here is my question.
I have been actively looking for either a used Paul Mottey or a Tim Scruggs cue for awhile. Nothing fancy. Maybe just a 4 point cue with maybe some rings and veneers. Can someone please tell me how much i should expect to pay. I am thinking of trading a couple of cues as part of the deal. One of the cues would be a BCM rosewood plain jane with rings at all positions and a Joss cue that i just picked up. This particular model was made for the Joss tour exclusively and is engraved northeast joss tour stop 11, 2002-2003. It has 6 ebony points with veneers. 3 high and 3 low and has some (what i believe to be ) mother of pearl inlays in both the points and the ebony butt handle. It also has what i would call holly squigley inlays also in the butt. At the time Joss advertised the retail price of these cues somewhere between $1,000-1,200. I am not stupid enough to know that i am not going to get anywhere near that price. i will try to post pictures as soon as i can..
