Need help identifying old case?

Well thank you kbooks3. I agree with Ron Thomas, it is not an It's George case.

I just compared it to an early It's George case that I got and they are definitely different. The only thing they have in common is that they are tube cases and they have the same latch and feet on the bottom. That's it. The arrangement of the feet is similar but the spacing is definitely different. Different tubes. Different lengths. Different liners. Different end caps. The lids do not interchange, the tubes are of a different dimension.

Unless It's George changed virtually everything about their cases after an early run, these cannot be made by them.

Now we have seen three. The one in the Ebay ad, mine, and kbooks3's.

There were some cases made by cue makers, perhaps this is one of them. It seems they are all from the eighties, at least the ones that have turned up.

These are seriously high quality cases, no joke. Two of the three that have turned up were paired with higher end maker's cues too. It would be nice to track down who made them.

Let's try again. Any ideas?

EDIT: Maybe Paul Dayton or Bill Schick knows? Two of the cases were found with their cues. Does anybody know them that could ask?

Nice job on the restoration so far. Interesting to see the discussion and forensics trying to figure out who made this case.

Lots of similar cases in this genre to choose from.

Thank you. I polished up the hardware so the restoration is done. The leather is beautiful and is properly finished and protected. The inside of the case was so nice it even smelled new.

I am working on restoring an old It's George case now. I am almost done with the leather. It looked horrible, the change is dramatic. I will address some liner issues with it next.

Believe it or not I have also sourced some correct keys for these cases. :grin-square: I have always been geeked that I have the key for my Fellini. I was thinking to get some copies made but originals score a 10 on my cool factor meter.

Chasing down the origins of these cases is fun. It may lead nowhere but I really feel these cases are identifiable. I think there is a very good chance that one of the cue makers will know who made them.

Thanks for your input JB. I really appreciate it. :)
