Need help identifying this Mali Cue

Hello Everyone! I'm new to billiards and just inherited a Cue from my Dad. He couldn't tell me anything about it other than he has had it from the early 90's.

I have attached thumbnails of the cue.

If anyone has info, i'd greatly appreciate it!

The cue pictured is a Model 15 which is part of the Mali 386-94 Series, it is the top of the line model produced in 1994 for Mali. This series was upgraded in 1994 from the older Mali 386 series cues.

It is similar to the earlier models that were made before 1994. The main difference is the older model had double rings below the wrap and above the butt cap, and it did not have dots next to the oval design in the cues butt, it had White diamonds about half the size of ovals.

The retail price of this cue was $285 and the Wholesale price was $142.50.

Manwon - Thanks for the reply. Do you know how i could find more information/documentation for this Cue? Also, is it considered collectible or not as i would not want to use it much if it is a collectible Cue.

There are a few that collect Mali's but not many. If you like how it plays you would be better of using it. A friend of mine had one from around the same period and it shot pretty well. I say just enjoy it.

Vegas you are a lucky guy! I wish I had a cue that my Dad gave me. I would keep it/use it until my child was old enough to appreciate it and then pass it on to him/her.

A few generations down the road it will be very valuable indeed

to your family if no one else

There is not a great deal of information on Mali cues, the information I gave you came from a catalog I have from that time period. These cues are not really collectable because one they are too new and second I do not think they were made in the USA, I could be wrong though.

If you want more information contact Mali and send them some pictures on line I think that they can answer any question you have.
