Need Help Looking for Colored Bumpers.

I'm looking for bumpers in different colors.

The bumpers I'm looking for are .250 and 1 from this site: http://www.cuestik.com/store/product.asp?ITEM_ID=5839&DEPARTMENT_ID=139 .

I'm looking for orange or brown. Looked everywhere.
Anyone know where can I get them?

Thanks in advance :)
They are almost mind numbing easy to make, especially the .250 you show. You can make them in any color you want. I will make a post maybe tomorrow and tell you exactly how to make the molds from Delrin. They end up costing around $.15 a bumper. It is also fun too, because it is one more thing you don't have to depend on someone else for. Make as many as you want in any color you want.

The casting materials come from here:

Below is the tint you use, it can be bought at Home Depot.

Great, now something else I am going to have to attempt.

Thanks for the post Macguy.

The molds for the "T" bumpers as I call them are nothing more then drilling two holes the sizes you want in a piece of Delrin and putting a piece of masking tape over the bottom so the rubber doesn't run out and pouring in the rubber. The the mold for bumpers that have a hole and a washer require a little more skill to make but no more then would be required to replace a ferrule I would say. Very beginner level machining. Once you make a few molds they will last forever. It is just a one time investment of time. On the "T" bumpers by the way, It is very easy to add a logo to the bumpers when you are making them yourself.

I just use solid pvc rod and cut to fit. pvc makes a sound that some may not like, but it stands up to the bangers in the poolroom & protects the butt of the cue.

comes in a variety of colors and is cheap.....

What typr of resin are you using? The website lists several. Chris.

I'd be interested in which particular product you are using as well.

Any info as to order quantity/pricing, just to get an idea of what would need to be invested to give this a try?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What I have used in the past is the PMC-746 with a hardness of shore hardness of 60. You can also get materials for something softer of harder. 60 hardness is what most bumpers you buy are I believe. You should read the site and the technical area and maybe give them a call. There may be new products you could be interested in. The resin has about a year shelf life but the hardener seems to never go bad.

It's easy to work with just mix it up and add your tint till you like the color and pour it in the molds. I mix by weight in little 3 ounce in little plastic cups I get at the supper market. Just mix the amount you want, use and then throw away the plastic cup. I never bought their release agent, I just use some silicone spray on a paper towel and wipe the inside of the mold before pouring. The molds are Delrin and the bumpers slip right out. Study that website though, there is a lot of information. Before you know it you will start making red bumpers, yellow, bumpers green, bumpers, bumpers with your logo and so on. In the grand scheme of cue building, making your own custom bumpers is small potatoes.

Here is an interesting video. It shows the use of the product although they are making a mold with it and not a finished product.
