I have a cue that has a small .05 weight bolt inserted in the Butt of the cue
for some reason it is extremely hard to remove and add other weight bolts if I ever want to. It is drilled and threaded but it seems the wood is fighting
everytime I try to remove or add weight.....Is this normal at all ???

Can anything be done to make adding or removing the weight bolt easier
because the way it is now is just to hard.

Hi,

Perhaps it is glued it in place.

Drilling out a butt pocket is a tricky biz because you can build up heat and that can effect the glues and finish.:help:

If you can't torque it out my advise is that you best leave well enough alone. You may be looking down a rabbit hole that will have bad consequences.

Weight Bolt

I have had the weight bolt out an put it back in a few times.
The problem is that it is extremely Tight and wanted to know if I can somehow make it easier to add or remove weight when I want to ???

Maybe like lubricate the weight bolt or something when adding...?

Never had an issue like this on another cue

Weight Bolt

When you manage to get it out again, put a little carnauba wax on the threads. Install and remove once or twice to see if there's less resistance - repeat if necessary.

I will try this out, another friend of mine just told me the same thing and said it should work without much of a problem.

Are you sure that the thread in the cue and the thread on the bolt are the same? Perhaps the bolt and thread have been cross threaded? Chase the thread with a tap.

Graphite is some pretty excellent stuff if you don't mind the color.
