Yesterday I set my cue against the rail. Not securely enough I guess because it slipped and hit the ground. My tip (that had been replaced 2-3 months ago) fell off cleanly. I'm pretty sure it can be reused.

I have some Gorilla Glue. Would that be okay to use, or should I get a different kind of glue? If so what kind?

Tip: Kamui Clear Soft

Shaft: Predator Z2

If you plan on putting the old tip back on sand the back side or the glue side a little Rough it up.

The customers that drop there cue and the tip flies off on , if the customer brings me the tip I will reinstall the tip for free ...

Take a soda can or beer can cut it into a flat sheet of aluminum.

Wax the ferrule and the aluminum, wrap the aluminum around the shaft as tight as you can leaving about 1/4 in of the aluminum that goes past the ferrule making a pilot or a guild that the tip will be automatically centered .
Use tape to hold aluminum around the shaft MAKE sure you wax the ferrule so the glue will not glue the aluminum to the ferrule or the shaft.

Other then that you are going to have a tough time getting the tip centered .
Really I suggest a new tip ... and trimming the excess off then using the old tip because of getting it centered properly .

I use Loctite super control gel super glue and I wick the tips with a thin CA.

On a Z2 shaft I would take it back to the cue repair person ..

I sure wish I could say I have never had a tip fall off.

But I have had major issues with tips falling off.

There is some ferrule material out there that is dam hard to get a tip to stick too.
Any more I am putting carbon pads on all the tips Install except the clears.

I have also been making my own clears backing pads out of DVD discs .

On the cues and shafts I have been making I have gone with capless ferules too.
There are also some tips that I will no longer stock because the history they have of delaminating and falling off .

Do you score the ferrule slightly to help with the abrasion? I have the back of the tip scuffed and the ferrule scored. I've never had an issue except once, the pot life of the glue was past its prime.
