I have 2 older cues I will be selling for a friend, but I don't know for certian who made them. I was thinking adams or vintage helmstetter, but I'm not sure. The plain jane say "Lou Butera" at the joint. The other fancier one has had the wrap removed and you can see a butterfly splice. Any help will be great.

vintage cues

#2 definitely looks like a Huebler. I would guess #1 is either an Adam or a helmstetter cue. Or a Chinese knock off. I'm sure someone on the board will give you a positive ID. Check with Manwon.

pointed pin id say both adam cues
I second that. Either Adam or Helmstetter. Huebler has never used a piloted stainless joint with brass inserts. Always been flat faced 5/16-18 thread pin with nylon insert in shaft.

niether of hese cues are in the bluebook

niether of these cues are under the adams section of the bluebook, thats wht I made this post.

Didn't see either one in the BlueBook. A lot of old cues had the logos sanded off during refinishing, etc.

Yep

Exactly.

That first one screams of early Adams/Helms (as stated), but Mali was a big user of that pin as well.

What's the asking on the first one??? PM me when you find out.

Some real early Hueblers had brass inserts in the shaft. They were flat faced though.

Price on cues

I have spoken to the owner and we agreed on a more than fair price, becuase both cues need a little work, but could be beautiful again with some tlc. $300 shipped for both cues.

The fancier cue is based on the Drake cue by Adam. It's probably in one of their other lines, but the componentry is the same.
