I need some help. I'm looking to have a few full spliced sneaky petes built. No inlays. I'd like veneers on them...maybe an ivory joint...but I want the real attraction in these cues to be the wood. I've found good wood seldom needs any compliment.
I know some of the types of wood I want to use in a cue may require coring to provide stability...especially some of the burls. Would I be able to have a sneaky pete made of say buckeye burl or amboyna burl? Think a nice piece of either for a handle, going into a nice ebony forearm would look outstanding. Buckeye burl into ebony with like, black, lightblue, darkblue and white veneers....or amboyna burl into ebony with no veneers. I also like woods like bloodwood, rosewood, osage orange, padauk, and curly purpleheart. Would most of those be suitable for use in a full splice cue?
Anyone have a suggestion for whom I might be able to approch with a request for such a cue?
