I am probably a D player at best. I play a lot at home to relax. I am having a problem missing the easiest shots sometime by a diamond or more. This is so frustrating. Ordinarily I shoot with my head low, almost chin on cue. I noticed I am much more accurate standing almost straight up. I see the line of the cue this way. It seems like I can't find the straight aim line unless i am totally upright. I have tried moving my head around without success.
I had lasik surgery a few years ago and now my vision is much worse. I see double on most things up close. I have an eye exam next week and then will probably have a redo of the eye correction.
So my question, How do I aim if i can't see the straight line?

Then stand almost straight up, it's like the patient that says to the doctor "if I stand up I feel like I am going to faint" and the doctor says "well don't stand up" same with you just in reverse.

If you watch a lot of 3 cushion billiards you will see this; Fats and plenty of older players play(ed) this way, you may not be old but who cares? Who can argue with 1. Billiard players 2. Experienced players 3. Mother nature 4. What obviously works for you (right now)

Bad idea anyway

And it may be that you go back down in your crouch, maybe not; keep an open mind

You will have to be seeing that straight line from your new perspective and that probably won't happen overnight.

I can't imagine how difficult is must be to try to play pool while seeing double up close. It must be awful. It would probably make me feel dizzy and ill. Why not wait until your eye exam next week to find out if you can have the issue corrected before making any drastic changes to your pool game?

Is this the same Andrew Henson that used to live in Indiana a few years ago?

Hello Scott

Ya good to hear from you Scott! Ya it's me. You have a good memory. I took a lesson you in 2008. I thought about calling you. I don't know if my eyes are the problem or not but I can't find that straight line you talk about. My eyes feel like they work independent of each other if that makes sense. Hopefully that will be fixed soon.
It is like I stand up and aim, then approach the shot and then I hit the ball on the opposite side of my aim. Simple cut shots I make maybe %75 I see the line standing almost straight up most of the time, but I know that is wrong to shoot that way because you can't really finish your stroke that high.
