So its my birthday today and my fiancé told me that tomorrow she will buy me a LD shaft for my Bday. I have already narrowed my choices down to either the OB Classic Pro and the Pechauer Performance Plus Lite shaft. I really like the hit of both of them and wanted some input to help make a decision. Which do you think technology is better or Who uses better wood? Thank you in advance for any and all input.

I haven't heard anything about the Pechauer shaft but you haven't considered a Predator? I know OB Classic or Pro are both great low deflection shafts with a lot of "feel".

I have shot with every kind of predator and they just are the shaft for me. Not to say they are not a great product because they are, I just didn't like the hit of either the 314 or the Z.

I might catch flack for this but.... Have you tried a Lucasi zero flexpoint shafts?? I freaking love both of mine.

It's hard to give advice on this...it's really up to you. I have a Predator 314-2 and I hated it for the first couple of days I shot with it, now I can't live without it. If I were to try another, I'd get an OB. Either way, you'll like whatever you get used to.

I had the OB Classic Pro and I honestly really enjoyed it. I have played with many of the LD shafts out there and honestly I still like my Klapp OG shaft better. To me it feels a lot better than any of the LD shafts I've tried. I guess the main point is, whichever feels the best for you. No one can really tell you which one is going to feel better for you. Only you can determine that. I wouldn't count out old maple for a shaft though.

You know I actually haven't tried them yet but I have heard nothing but great things about them so far. I will see if they have any while I'm at the store tomorrow to try out.

Only you would know which shaft plays best for you. If there are any problems down the road with the OB, they take of it right away. Johnnyt

I had the ob classic on a McDermott butt and the Pechauer pro LD shaft on a po8.
Both played good but I liked the hit of the Pechauer better. Can not really say why other than I
Felt more confidence playing with it. Possible the butt might have been a factor as well.
You could buy both and return one after trying it out.

One other thing to keep in mind. I tried many shafts. Most of the ones I tried I purchased used here at AZ in the Wanted/For Sale forum. The ones I didn't care for, I turned around and sold. I usually came within $5 or $10 of breaking even and they sold fast (I opted for fast sale versus trying to recover full amount).

I could tell you what I tested and what I ended up with but that is irrelevant as what I like has nothing to do with what you like. For me, it came down to the Z2 or OB2 and it was really close. The OB2 felt slightly better to me and they're made in the USA so it was OB2. I have 4 of them now. You may not, however, like a 11.75 mm shaft or the feel of the OB2. It is personal preference.

Just be thankful you have a fiance that is supportive of your pool hobby.

Thank you everyone for all your input this has help me out. nobcitypool, I am very grateful to have such a awesome women in my life who supports me and would have been happy if she didn't even give me anything :). She is actually a pretty good pool player herself and is getting better super fast, kind of shocking how quickly she pick up the game. PINKLADY thank you for the birthday wish it is very much appreciated! Wish I could but its back to work on Wednesday for me.

Out of your two choices I would go OB but being in Oregon you are fairly close, not sure of the exact distance, to Bob Danielson(WA) and I would recomend you try his SS360. He is on the forum feel free to get ahold of him, bdcues.
