Just wondering if anyone can give me a comparison of Tim Scruggs vs JossWest. Im thinking about purchasing and cant make up my mind. Im looking at '72-'80 JossWest and 80's era TS. I wish i could try both out to make a decision but unfortunately can't. They have a very similar look but need to know if there is a difference in balance, butt diameter, shaft taper or etc. Both are steel jointed cues. Thanks!

Both cue makers made cues of different weights and balances
You need to ask the sellers those details
I would also ask about the size of the butt
Some jw cues i have had the butt was alittle wider
They both play well and you cant go wrong with either one
I have owned several of each and also have some for sale pm me if interested

When you've reached that level of craftsmanship, you can go by looks alone and not make a bad choice. As BBB said, you can narrow it down to balance, weight, feel...wish I had that choice.

Owned both. Very similar in how they played. My JW was made in about 77-78 and my TS was about a 82-83. Wish i still had them. The TS had a slightly skinnier butt and that was a plus for me. A lot of the old-school steel-joint cues had big butt ends/
