Not sure where to post this thread, but I am looking for a source of nylon wrap in solid colors.

Thanks in advance for your leads.

Yes, Schmelke.

I bought some black and dark brown. Cheap. If you can't find it in the regular wrap section, look in the clear outs.

I want to say 6 bucks a roll but as usual, I can't remember anything.

Thanks

Thanks for all of the replies.

As for solid black and solid white, that is available but I am looking for colors.

Also, I tried Schmelke before posting and they have a good selection of Irish linen but nothing in nylon.

Prather was able to supply me solid blue and solid red.

I know this stuff is out there. The problem is that it is not manufactured as wrap for pool cues.

That is weird. I saw it on their site not too long ago and then, after reading your post, I looked it up again and the wraps are gone.

Thread comes in various gauges and different manufacturers use different systems to indicates the sizes. I would like to find out what gauges/sizes are used for cue wrap and how the designations relate from one manufacturer to another.

For example one manufacturer uses a letter system and another a number system.

Is this for real. Can you really get Irish Linen that you can use for wraps at hobby lobby.

Ummm . . . I guess you haven't read the whole thread - the discussion is about nylon, not linen.

Although correct, a search of hobby lobby shows they carry linen. So the question remains, can this linen be used to do wraps?

I haven't visited Schmelke's site for some time now but I do know that I found the nylon in their clearance or close out section.

Good idea to call them as they have more merchandise available than they advertise on their web page.

I mean. just because you don't see it listed on the site doesn't mean that they don't have it. You might be surprised.

Update

I've been successful finding nylon (and silk) thread in almost every color one might desire and at reasonable cost.

Thread suppliers, bead and jewelry suppliers, as well as fishing rod supply vendors all are sources and can be found through Google searches.

My lingering question though is: What size is generally used? In the letter system, I have been told Size EE and Size F are correct and conversely I have been told those two sizes are incorrect and that Size FFF is what should be used.

(There is also a numerical coding system which I have not explored.)

Does anyone here have an opinion, or better yet, experience in using specific thread sizes?

Once again, thanks in advance for your help and advice.

Jay
