I'm looking for a cue company or cuemaker who does a great job of applying a picture or a likeness onto a cue.
I have a friend who contacted me about getting this done for his step son.
Here is the story and after reading I would appreciate advice and, if you are somehow able...help.
First, let me say that I've contributed multiple times on this forum with the hope that at some point, if it the shoe were on the other foot that help would come my way. My comtributions were not and will not be soley for that purpose as I'm a firm believer in helping when you are able.
So we have a 14 year old boy in northwestern Wisconsin who's father for a still unknown reason, recently commited suicide.
My friend Jim is the boys step father. Jim is not a pool player but the boys real father was. He used to bring his son the the local pool hall to play.
Since the death the boy has not touched a pool cue. Jim told me that he will start playing pool with this his newly adopted step son because he knows the boy loved to play before his fathers death.
Jim's wish is that I either come up with a pool cue for the step son with a picture of the son and now deceased father on it (despite what happened the boy was very close to his father and as you can imagine, misses him badly) or point him to where he can get this done.
I wont mention the boys name but I am going to send a link for this thread to Jim so that he can view it. He knows that he would have to register here to make any comments or replies to the thread. If he decides to make his step son's name public he will at that point. I'm sure that he will update with pictures once the cue is done.
As I said...the young man is 14 years old. He has received a couple of Presidential awards for academics, he is the student IT guy for his school. His new father took him hunting this year and he bagged a nice 8 pointer. He was a pool player until his father left him. He is a kid who has tons of potential and a big reason to let it all go to waste. He deserves better. Jim and the boys mother are doing what they can to make that happen.
So to wrap this up.....I'd like some advice on getting this done.
On the other hand, I'd LOVE some help in making this a reality for the young man and the MAN who has stepped in admirably to be his father.
I've seen this community come together many times. Any helpful advice or charitable help would go a long ways.
One last thing......the young man does not know that his step father is going to do this.
