I have posted a thing for donations for the bca junior nationals before and that helped me out and i apperciate everyone doing what they did, the down side is that i still dont have enough money to go, i had a local business that was going to sponsor me but backed out, 11 days before we have to leave. So we are scrambling to find replacement money. I have an ebay auction that is running for 1$ donations all is appreciated and for everyone that contributes can advertise for year on my new website. http://cgi.ebay.com/Sponsor-an-Up-a...1QQihZ003QQcategoryZ21212QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem this is the link to the auction.

thank you very much

money for the tourny....

I'm lucky I got a job a couple weeks before the tourny. I honestly don't spend that much money unless it's on pool. And even that money i keep floating around forever. I always have a bout 100 bucks on me. I gamble and win. Then go lose it all to someone and end up even on the night. Or I might win one night and be 300 winner and then lose 200 in a couple days straight. This time I had to get a job. All the easy games I already squeezed out of about 200 total and saved it. Then I went to go work with my brother in constrcution. Well I'll tell you it sure does make you appreciate the money you work for. I make 10 dolalrs an hour and I'm in sun here in texas for about 4hrs a day. I know it doesn't seem like much until you're out there but I guess you'll have to take my word for it. I get roughly 200 a week and a new skin color everyday:D I've saved about 600 in the few weeks i've worked and won touraments and calcutta money. So I think I need to work a few weeks more before I have the money. I think it will roughly cost me abbout a 1,000.

Send me a PM It'd be nice to actually know someone there;)

See you in a few weeks buddy.

think of getting a job?. People will actually give you money if you work for them.

Wow!! No one would have thought of that, it always nice to have someone come out of the cheap seats and talk shit to young person who is interested in Pool. You are a perfect example of the statement that pool players eat their young.

Jeff...I'm confused! When I used to run BCA Jr. Qualifiers, it was a REQUIREMENT that funds were in escrow to send the winner to the Jr. Nationals. This had to be guaranteed either by the room hosting the qualifier, or the person promoting the tournament. Outside sponsorship was always allowed, but it was guaranteed that the winning kid would get to make the trip. I guess that must have changed, huh? Maybe you can get your local newspaper to write an article about you. You can mention the business who "backed out", and it might result in them getting back in (from public pressure), or someone else locally feeling sorry for you, and making a decision to help out. Stranger things have happened.

Here's another suggestion that one of my jr. national student's did for extra spending money. He and I went around to local businesses, asking for $25 dollar donations. We offered to have a shirt printed with each sponsor's logo on the back, and wear the shirt during the tournament. This was about 12 yrs. ago, but I think he got about $350.00...which would go a long ways towards achieving your goal. Afterwards, he wrote a nice article about the tournament, mentioning the generosity of EACH merchant, and got it published in the paper, with a picture!

Good luck! Hope you get to make the trip.

Thanks for the ideas ill try my hardest to get there.

Here's an idea that I doubt most entertain in their minds. (it's pool related)

stay stern, stay flexible.

:) Good Luck I Hope you Make It There.

It would be a good idea if you let people know what your cash goal is and keep it updated.
This may get players to donate more if they know where your goal is at.

Great Idea:D

I am getting there slowly but surely a 1$ at a time, i do really apperciate everyone donating to my cause. thank you
