Hi everyone,

I have a cue that is very dear to me and I'm almost sure that none have heard of - Dyobir. It's an european brand and I got about 2 years ago.

I am looking to get a replacement shaft for it. I went to a couple of cue dealers in Toronto and they looked at the cue like it was from a different planet.

Can you please tell me by looking at this pics if you have any idea on what shafts might fit ? I put the cue next to my 5K1 maybe that will help.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Looks like a piloted 5/16 x 14 joint. You can get any after market shaft for that pin size. Question is will it match up. Need to know diameter at the joint.

Thank you Randy.

I will get the tool to measure it as I have none in my home but I posted a pic of the shaft maybe this will help.

Thanks again

It appears to actually be a 5/16-18 thread, it should be fairly easy to get a shaft for. Welcome to the forum!

Thank you Doug. I've been lurking around here for some time but it took a while for my account to be activated ! It's great to see so many pool "conneiseurs" and I hope I'll finally get a shaft for my cue.

shaft

I'd be willing to bet it's a 5/16x18 with a pilot. The pilot is gonna be the catch. Pretty standard thread though.

Thanks. Since I only have Uni-Loc's that are pretty standard, I looked over the internet trying to find something that would fit. My questions might sound dumb but is there any difference between 5/16 x 18 joint and 5/16 x 18 piloted ?

Not dumb. The pilot has a "lib" to it. The lib will sit better into the joint, usually metal. The non-pilot will sit flush with the shaft, when looking at it from the side. You should not have any problem getting a shaft to fit. If you run into issues, move this post to "ASK A CUEMAKER". There are probably many willing to make you a shaft. You may have to send them the Butt.

I just got yesterday a Predator 314-2 5/16 x 18 that fits perfectly. It doesn't have the metal part coming out of it but the guy at the dealership said it will not impact playability what so ever. Is that correct ?
