Just wanted to share this one... yesterday I moved a table for a friend and when we got the cloth off there were no slate screws!
Not that they didn't put them in, but it was designed that way. It was a 3-piece slate GC CLONE. He said it had a label on it saying Kasson, which was removed so I cannot confirm.
There were 1 1/2" wide angle brackets that attached to the frame rail and the slate backing with one 3/4" wood screw at each seam and one end.
It was tough to level because a shim here raised the slate over there, if you know what I mean.
Used the leg levelors to get the ends on the nuts, then same to level end to end, then shimmed at the seams to raise them to level (yes, it was sway backed.
Then used the angle brackets just to secure the shims and slates.
If you lifted up on the slates at all it would come off the frame.
It came out on the nuts, but sure seemed pretty flaky.
Just wanted to share... gotta go...cya
