New amboyna Joe Callaluca cue and new Whitten case.

I have been posting pics of my Joe Callaluca cue while in progress. The cue is finished and I received it a couple of days ago. The cue turned out great and Joe was outstanding to work with. The cue is relatively simple but very pretty.

The amboyna is full of character. The rings turned out perfect. (The "bushka" style with the double silver ring is my favorite) Short flat faced ivory joint with the radial pin. Butt cap is an ivory substitute. Three shafts: 2 standard and one from a OB-1 blank Joe finished off. Slightly textured black shiny leather. The matching joint caps he made turned out gorgeous.

This is my future player and it feels great. Love the balance and solid hit. :)

If you get the chance, you won't find anyone easier to work with than Joe C. Big thanks to him and Guycrunch for introducing us. :)

I also just received my new custom Whitten case. It's a 3x6 cognac colored small gator with dark brown trim. It turned out beautiful :)

The rings turned out good, but to me, the ones at the joint are wrong...The design should be in the middle, not off to one side like they are. Compare those ones to the rest and you'll see what I'm talking about. Otherwise, nice cue!

Sweet!!

Joe C did an awesome job on that one, Jimmy. Just a great looking cue, and I know it will play great. Congrats to Joe on making another sweet cue. I would not have expected anything less.

Absolutely Stunning!!!! With that case...Definetly a Keeper! Congrats on the acquisition!

Just curious, is it cored?

Yes it was cored. If I am not mistaken, all amboyna forearms would need to be cored. It is a beautiful wood, but "pretty" unstable.

The cue came out better than expected. Awesome looking cue with that leather wrap. Is it black pig skin?

You did even better by having it complimented with that Whitten case.
Good things do come to good people...Enjoy!

Hey Myron, always good to hear from you. I love the cue. :) I am not really sure about the leather. I just told Joe to pick out a nice piece of black and he made a nice choice.

Don't be a stranger. Give me a call sometime.

Great piece of wood on that cue. The case really makes it the total package. Congrats on a nice pickup.

Jim, your cue turned out wonderful. Thanks for sharing pics with us. JC is obviously worth looking into. Sean

jim, it was fun to watch that cue's progress from the square turning blank of amboyna to a cue. the finished product is great and i'm glad the cue is everything you wanted for your playing cue. how about a picture including that lomax break cue?

Thanks

Thanks for the compliments. :)

Sean, would love to see you guys @ cueaddicts get with Joe. Of all the cuemakers I have ever dealt with, Joe's concern over pleasing his customers is at the top of the list. He made sure every little detail was to my approval. He is just beginning, but his work doesn't show it.
