When I get new cue I usually play good with it for about a month. After that I just loose feeling and miss a lot. If I grab another cue I am back to the game...

What is going on?? :)

Borderline personality disorder? :confused::eek:

I was going to say ADD, but who the hell knows. My third wife had ADD, COPD, CRUD, and Who Knows What D, so it was always a mystery.
I think, however, it's the focus thing, like Rich says. Whenever I leave my cue at home and have to grab one of the Wallabushkas hanging nearby, I am generally careful (focused) about miscuing, shooting around corners, etc. :smile:

I do the same. In either overly careful and focused with the cue not to bang it on the table, and the concentration carries into my play, or im so damn excited about my new cue that it carries me to play better. I dunno. Im a mess.

hi

Well for some reason whenever I pick good cue that I never used before I can aim in seconds while with the cue I usually play I loose that feeling for some reason....

The same goes for golf clubs! You always hit the demo clubs better on the range.

It's called confidence. When you have it, its amazing what you can do. When you don't, its just about just as amazing what you can't do. Pick up a new cue, "I can't miss with this cue". Sooner, or later, you eventually miss a shot. Then doubt creeps in, "Damn, this is just a normal cue".

As the saying goes, "It's the Indian, not the arrow".

I knew a good player who would change his cue about every month...
...he would say that the cue lost its 'hit'.

So I tried his cue when he was ready to give up again..
....I miscued on every extreme spin shot.
I looked at the tip....it was WAY too round.

He didn't need to change his cue....he needed to change his tip.

...and he needed to change his chalking method

Ah....I see.

The old "Honey it's not you, it's me" routine. When it's really you.....
