Doing an ivory Bushka-esque tribute with nice snakewood, ivory inlays. Nice coloring of black, yellow, brown and natural venneers.

Great looking cue Joe. Those veneer colors are gonna look sweet with the snakewood.
Please keep us updated with the cues progress.

Always a pleasure to see work from James White. Look forward to seeing it finished.

Man I love the look of snakewood, this cue is going to be gorgeous. Well done, please post pics when it's finished.

looks great.

only concern i have is if it's not turned down to size yet, because if not and it needs a few more passes, i'm concerned that the circles towards the a-joint will start to cut into the veneers, because as of right now, its really riding the edge.

hope it works out, because it's already a looker.

good luck!

Wondered about all the free space between the butt inlays & the butt cap. What's going on there? Something interesting yet to come?

Not at all.. Bushka had this offset zig zag pattern he used, some were more offset than others. So that's the design, but otherwise that's the inspiration. Here are two design features we used.

Very interesting, Joe. Gonna be a great cue, please share it when done. Wonderful, classic design inspiration.

You can also see in this picture how close the real Bushka's dots are to the points.

No problem, thanks. IMHO Bushka was the first to "tastefully" design, or decorate, a cue. At least here in the east.. he saw what Paradise was doing and actually toned it "down". He was very aware of not only playability, but in decorating, he wasn't overly gaudy.

Szamboti after him, the same. Nothing over the top, just flowing designs that have lasted the test of time.
