New Cynergy shaft....

How do you like it?

Anyone playing with the Cynergy 10.5? Thoughts?

I'm interested in giving it a try, but $400 is a lot to spend on a flyer. I'm enjoying my 11.8 for now. I'd be using it for pool as I don't really have regular access to snooker or Chinese 8ball or any of these other games where the players seem to like smaller shafts.
These shafts seem to have some decent reviews. I would buy from this place. If you don't like it you can return it.

This thread flew under my radar originally. Probably because I had zero interest in Cuetec back then. However in August I had the chance to hit this 10.5mm Cynergy at a demo booth.

I can say whole heartedly that if I was ever to buy a CF shaft, it would be this 10.5 Cynergy. It's the only CF that comes close to the Z2 in terms of deflection, (also my turned down wx900). It also helps that I prefer small diameter shafts.

Are there any new experiences/reviews on that 10.5 Cynergy shaft….especially with standard Pool Billard Balls…..?

For all you small diameter conical taper folks they just announced a 10.5mm, hybrid conical Cynergy shaft. Its new to me, it might have been out a little while.

It's not a bad idea for a product niche for all of the players used to snooker cues that want an LD modern shaft. I think most pool players would find this too small. 12mm +- .2 is about ideal for me. Anything over 12.5 feels too thick, anything under the 11.8 feels too thin. I have not run into this size in the wild yet.

I currently shoot with a 12.25 but tried a friend's 12.4 the other day. I liked it but it's surprising how big a difference .006" makes in our perception. Someone earlier in the thread pointed out that a smaller shaft can give you a little better access to the ball when shooting oft a rail. Has anyone thought about how a larger tip may be better supported than a smaller one and possibly more durable? Even though the contract point and radius are the same, there is more leather surrounding it.

I'm playing pretty good for my level with a wooden 11.75 . And looking for a small dia carbon shaft here in the near future, which is why I'd like to try one but doubt anyone near would have one on hand. And not gonna shell out 400 on a whim
I ordered my Becue cue with the 11.8mm shaft and struggled with it, got the 12.5 shaft and played much better with it, after a couple of months I pulled out the 11.8mm and realized I wasn't hitting the cue ball precisely , focused more on tip placement on the cue ball and also found it did help with CB deflection, been using it for a couple of months now and I am liking the results.

Interesting how things change over time

I’m now playing with a 13 mm house cue I had split. I’m thinking if I ever do get another carbon it’s gonna have to be big too with a shorter taper the last one I had long taper that I didn’t like much
just gotten very comfortable with the house cue

Wonder how things will change in the next yr and a half lol

Trending more towards bigger ,

Pretty sure all reports are based on pool balls, not snooker size balls.
Only seen one in the wild at my local BCA league. Player is a 550 and he really likes it but said it took about three months to adjust and his Fargo went down for awhile. Way too small for me.

I have a review. I was finally able to try the 10.5 for the first time at a demo booth and I really liked it. So I ordered one and have been playing with it just about every day for the past three weeks. Long story short: I have found my new playing shaft size.

It took some adjustments as initially it felt quite small. But that went away quickly. I really like the increased visibility to the cue ball, and I feel it allows for much more precise tip placement--my options grid on the cue ball is that much more granular.

It does deflect less than the 11.8 which I've determined by the fact that at first I was consistently overcutting shots when using outside English, and undercutting shots with inside. However, the difference feels less pronounced than did the difference going from the 12.5 to the 11.8 (which itself was worlds away from when I went from a 13mm solid maple shaft to the 12.5 Cynergy--I had to relearn my whole game that time). Whether that means I'm learning how to adjust better, or if the deflection difference really is smaller I can't say.

The final nail in the coffin for my 11.8 shaft was actually just last night. While playing with the 10.5 my tip popped off on a long draw shot. My only other playing shaft was the 11.8. So I swapped it in and man, what a log. I'd played with that shaft for two years and had only been away for three weeks, but it already felt foreign, oversized, and clunky. I played poorly, adjusted poorly, and was just overall unhappy, spending the entire evening wishing I could be back to my 10.5.

I got a new tip put on my 10.5 today, and shooting with it felt like coming back home. So the 10.5 it is for me.
