I've read AZ forums off and on for a while and recently joined up.
I thought I'd post some pics of a Dishaw cue that I had made recently to see what kind of reaction I'd get.

It was more than your average Dishaw cues. $3500. I went to him with a design and he was really good about working with me.
I have no plans to sell it but I am a little curious to know if its worth more or less than I paid.

What are the metal rings made of?. I have a high end Dishaw with 18kt. rings. Dan does great work and his cues hit good also. Dan is not cheap. He charges a lot for his work. I think it's worth it.

Nice amboyna burl in that cue! Did he do v-groove points of maple or holly and then use CNC or pantograph for the amboyna or just sharpen the outer points?

The rings are brass. I was going to go with gold but then changed my mind at the last minute. It really is the same effect so I was ok with the decision.

As for the points, I'm not sure. I had assumed that he had cut the holly points in and then CNC'd the aboyna. If its all CNC then he really sharpened them up nicely. Does anyone know how Dan typically does this. I guess I'd prefer it if they were cut.

I have to agree with Tommy. I went down to see Dan about a $1250.00 in stock cue and 1 hour later after seeing his work I doubled it and ended up with a cue that I can never see my self selling. Extremely happy with his work and dealings with him in person and over the phone.

Very nice cue Qslave. You should be very proud.

Really nice and unique design. And, the execution looks great. Congratulations.

Original and imaginative design. Beautiful combination of woods and inlay. Flawless execution. Fantastic looking cue. I'd say if you're happy with it, then it was worth every penny.

Thanks everyone. I am not disappointed in the money I spent. Its nice to have a forum to show off a cue and give props to the cuemaker.
Also, thanks for the compliments on the design. I thought I had something original without being outlandish and that's the reason I wanted to make the cue. It seems like its next to impossible to come up with something that hasn't already been done. If anyone has ever seen anything like this (where floating points mimicing recuts actually come through the rings), let me know.

Beautiful cue and nice photography as well!!!!

Contact me if you want to sell/trade this cue!!! What kind of joint thread? Uni-loc?
