New 'dope' for Predator junkies...... the 'Centro'

Not a first
don't see the logic here, you lose some of the CF benefits, might as well stay with wood, but I guess it will serve all the CF look haters.

lucasi has had it for a good while

i would be curious about its benefits. less warpage? don't store cue in car trunk is a preemptive measure for that

Interesting release. Not the shaft so much as the decision by Predator to release a wood exterior shaft at a price point almost the same as Revo.

Carbon has become so ubiquitous at this point I feel like more people want the carbon look than the wood look. This shaft would have made more sense a few years ago when people were still warming up to carbon.

And so far it doesn't do the one thing I keep hoping to see from a carbon shaft maker, something that can be joint matched in both diameter and ring work to nicer custom cues.

have you tried it tho?
Just a few shots here and there. I ordered the cue in my avatar in 2017, right before carbon became ubiquitous. Since I had just spent so much money and time on the build project, I kind of committed myself to just staying the course with this set up. I do have a carbon fiber break shaft that I use daily though. I'm all for carbon. It's just that I don't care that much either way. I'm sure I'll migrate to carbon fiber eventually, just because it doesn't warp or ding. But i've never even hit more than a few shots with a low deflection shaft either.

I had a feeling that they would come up with new shafts, as the Revo shafts are always out of stock, but I thought it would be a Revo ver. 2.
Did not see something like that coming, but I guess if it has a cat logo, it'll sell nicely.
So who are the Predator pros that we will see playing with one of those? Who can beat this marketing tactic?

I'm a Predator fanboy and I don't see the market for it today. It would have made sense 20 years ago when McDermott released their "i-1, i-2, i-3" Intimidator shafts.

I don't see any deflection properties on their ad page. I'd assume its as good as a 314, but never know.

I don’t know why they’d invest in it with the revo sales through the roof
guess they figure what the hell roll the dice and maybe strike lightning again

This shaft seems to fill a small market void for those wanting the benefits of carbon fiber while sporting traditional maple.

Pred is not stupid, they must see a market for this. WhyteCarbon uses a faux finish for those that hate the look of CF, Pred must see buyers for carbon-cored wood.

How would anyone here know what pros may/may not use one? You know any future seeing mystics hangin on AZ?

Isn't this the ex pro shaft with splices?

LOVE the Ex Pro btw.
based on that diagram this looks to have the cf up front where mezz/fury put the cf more in the middle. i had a mezz hybrid pro 1st version and it was one of the best shafts ever. had to sell cue for financ. reasons and i still miss it. best mezz shaft ever made imo.
