Hi,

here is a brand new design.

For the buttsleeve I am going to use the same design as in the forearm. The cues is made of striped ebony and the points are made of micarta. All of the inlays are centered at the middle of the forearm.

I am currently doing another one with a slightly changed design where the stripes are made of silver.

That is really pretty. I have always liked ebony cues with lines/barbells. Bill McDaniel does something similar that I have seen that really cool as well.
 
Although I like the designs of the cues, I would like to see shaper points on the inlays and the cue points. There is nothing like those hand finished razor sharp points to make a cue special. JMHO

My intial thoughts also. The designs are very nice, but sharper inlays/points/interior points, would really set them off.

Jim,

both of you are right. These cues are not finished yet. They are in the final stages. Of course the points will be a lot sharper when completly finished. But, we don't hide that the pockets and inlays are done with a CNC and later we work (a lot) on them by hand. When the cues are completly finished, I will post pictures to proof :-))

Here is one of the finished ones...see the difference :-)

I'm sorry Markus, they still don't have those razor sharp points that I see in a lot of custom cues. Check the internet sites of some of the top custom cue makers and you will see what I mean.
Here is just one example. Go to this site and click on cues and check out any of the cues.

Please don't get me wrong. Your cues are designed very nicely and I hope to get a chance to hit balls with one some day. Also, not all of my cues have those razor sharp points. However, designs as nice as yours deserve the extra effort to make them special. JMHO.

Hi Rich R.

you don't have to be sorry. Now I know what you mean :-) Well there are two factors you have to consider here.

1. Our cues are far less expensive than those you mentioned. Sure we can handcut razor sharp points but it sure is a pricing matter....

2. Personal Preference. Our philosophy is to built cues with a superior hit and of superior quality for a reasonable (not cheap though) price. Our points maybe not as sharp as others but therefore they are all symetric and perfectly in line as well as centered and of the same size :-) and we can assure that only the best woods availlable will be used.

This is the top modell of the current line models and it only cost you about 1900 $ and is, except for the cutting of the inlays and pockets (and the not so sharp points), handmade..

PS: If you tell me where you live (PN) I might have a customer near you that sure will let you test hit his cue...;-)

Again, your designs are nice, and I wish you the best of luck. Your price point seems to be the same as other makers. At $1,900 for your top of the line, you're competing with Scruggs, Skip Weston, etc. which take the time to do the the sharp points and inlays.

All of the Schon's have cnc points/inlays and they do pretty good business :D .

There are some Runde era Schons with spliced points. :D

Markus, I understand your business strategy. All products, not just cues, are made to meet certain price points. It is a reality of doing business.

thank's for the offer but we do know how to do it. We just don't do it on the line models, only for the one of a kind cues upon customers request.
