Just traded my old Falcon cue for this one, part of their Niagara Series.

Does anyone know when this series came out and what the Canadian MSRP was for the NS-7? I can't find anything on this series, although this cue looks a lot like the Banff Series BS-8.

You should post this in the Canadian Pool section, someone there may be able to help you out.

no where has any info on this. My buddy is a dealer for them as well and has never heard of the niagara series. maybe it just came out and no dealers have it yet. is it a new cue or used?

Also, falcon cues have such a great hit to them, very firm and solid, with just the right amount of flex(almost like a schon). anybody looking for a good production cue chould check these out.

I think it is an older series. I got it used; traded my Falcon AC-14 and paid $300 on top of that. I rarely jump and always use a playing cue when doing so, so I had no use for a jump/break AC-series. The seller mentioned that she paid $650 for it.

The only mention of the Niagara Series I have found is here:
http://www.wunderlichbilliards.com/access/cues/falcon.htm

But they haven't replied to my emails, and neither has Falcon. I PMed Don Broos as he deals with Falcon a lot; hopefully he can shed some insight as to the details of this cue.

That series is quite old, They were the precursor to the newer Whistler and Banff series. In fact most of the designs in those series came from the Falcon Ontario, Niagara, and Montreal series. I have the catalogs from those years back when a good friend of mine was a Falcon dealer. Back then they were actually made in Mississauga and anyone could go in for a peek!

Thanks, I had hoped it was one of the older Mississauga-made cues. When I got my AC cue I think it was mere weeks before Falcon shut down their Mississauga plant.

Do your old catalogs show prices? I'm interested to know what Falcon priced it at when it came out.

I have all the prices list and dealer quotes as well. I'll have to dig them up. I have all the old Falcon, Joss, Lucasi, Mali and Meucci catalogues stored somewhere...

got some info. The Niagara series was put out in 1998, and the msrp on this cue at the time was $370 Canadian.

The MSRP was well over $370, that would be for a NS 4 maybe... Falcon always listed there prices in US Dollars I thought?

I may be wrong on the pricing, I cant find my info for Niagara, Ontario, or Montreal. I found everything past 2000, and older Ottawa, Quebec, and Victoria. Also can't find my info for Lucasi but found a bunch of other catalogues including older Vikings...

The Falcon website has both CAD and USD MSRPs listed, but the Niagara Series info is long gone. The Banff Series BS-8 is listed for $784 USD / $1176 CAD, but I don't know how different it is and whether cue prices have gone up since 1998.

Thanks, it would be great if I could find out that info.

EDIT: Haha, so we posted at the same time. Well, thanks for trying. :) I don't plan on ever selling this cue, so it's just to satisfy my own curiosity.

I have the catalogue in hand it does not list the prices.... they are in a binder somewhere in storage... Falcon dealer prices used to be pretty sweet....

Okay, no worries. I was just wondering how the O-1 price compared to the current price of the BS-1.

Does the BS-8's $1100 price tag seem too high for the NS-7?

Yes. The Niagara series was at the lower end if I remember right, the highest was priced at the same level as the mid- Ontarios I think...

Gotcha. Well the most intricate of the Niagara Series looks to be the NS-8 or NS-7; the poster from the Wunderlich site highlights the NS-7 forearm inlays. Assuming the NS-7 was at the higher end of things, would it have been around a $7-800 cue (Falcon MSRP)?

Now I'm starting to question whether I got a good deal. The seller had the original receipt for $650, and I valued my old AC-14 cue at $150. In the end the deal came out to $300 cash plus my AC-14, so $450 total. Hopefully the original price wasn't $370. :)

Do you like the cue? You must if you made the deal. You didnt lose moeny if that is your concern, it is a beautiful cue and I think you made out well... but there are others on here that know better than I do...
