New Format Question(s)

Hey, Jenn, congrats on another solid finish. I have some questions, though, about the single elimination at 16 format. Do you like it more than the double elimination format? As it was pointed out in one of the main threads, you seem to be able to constantly get to the round of 16, but always wind up with the bad luck in the redraw, getting players that are on.

Also, there's something I was confused on. I remember that one of the first times this format was used (back in 2004, I believe), you made the semis, and all the quarters, semis, and finals were races to 7, which were shown on TV. At the first WPBA event, it seemed the quarters were races to 9. Are the semis and finals only being shown on TV now?

It seems that every time I do get to the final 16 I get a horrific draw, but I play on the professional tour. As Jeanette Lee says, "If you want something easy, take up fingerpainting."

Yes, it stinks being on the winners side and drawing Allison, who lost her first match, but yes, this is also the format that got me to TV the first time, and I came from the losers side to do it. At the moment only the top 4 are televised races to 7, but I think the idea is, when we get more TV hours that all events will televise the top 8.

314 or Z

You were saying you love your P-2 Predator. You didn't say which shaft you use. Do you like the 314 or the Z shaft?? I have a P-2 and have been using the 314 and love it. But this past week-end I made a deal with a friend and got his Z shaft for my P-2. Which do you prefer? Just wondering what I should expect....

Jenn, are there plans for this happening in the near future, or is this a down the road goal?
 
Nineballart...I've only tried the 314, and I like it so much I never bothered trying the z shaft, although a lot of my friends love it. I was just at the BCA Expo and Predator is about to unleash the 314 2. I hit some balls with it and it feels great. I may switch to that.

Rich R...I'm not sure how far down the road this is, but I do know that it is part of the future plan of the WPBA, and a part of the reason we switched formats.
 
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Maybe the new 314 2 will be in Vegas at BCA and I can try it. Also I will be there rooting you on in your matches. Good luck . You will be there, right????
