the last year or so I have been playing a game once a week that a buddy taught me.
Carom 8 ball
the rules are standard BCA 8ball with the following exceptions:
the game is played with 2 cue balls. at the break one cue ball is on the center spot the second in the kitchen and you must hit the kitchen cue into the center cue ball and that ball must break the rack.
from that point on you cannot stroke a cue ball you must stroke your OB and pocket it by caroming off one of the cue balls on the table. You may call combinations but the first ball hit must be a cue ball.
BIH allows you to move one not both of the cue balls
edit: if a cue ball falls in a pocket you may only place that ball with BIH
This game has done wonders for my position play and taught me that some carom shots are easier than some cut shots with similar angles.
just thought I'd share.
