I’d like to hear some insight and opinions from cue makers on replacing the handle on a cue that has a warp due to an “A” joint issue. I recently came across a cue that I forgot I bought a few years ago and it has the issue. My questions are, is it a pain in the butt? Challenging? Lastly, rough cost? Cost will help determine if the cue is even worth putting the money into. Any and all comments are appreciated.

YES ... Replacing the handle of a pool cue so that you can not tell it was ever worked on is a very challenging task.
I have done a few for friends as a personal challenge and learning experience.
It requires a high level of accuracy to get the cue fit back together with a minimum of material loss.
Refinishing the entire cue makes it a bit easier but I have replaced forearms without disturbing the rest of the butt.
I would price a handle replacement around $250 to $450 depending on the wrap and other factors.
Keep in mind that prices will vary between cue makers.
