New Here? - Introduce Yourself

Hi everyone,

I’m Bill Alexander, founder of Bill’s Billiards Supply— Like everyone here I enjoy the game, and have been playing since I was 14. I'm now 50....and not sure where those 36 years went! I've recently started this small but growing business of cue-building materials, tools, and components. While I’m not a cue builder or tech myself, I have deep respect for those who are. My goal with this business is simple: support cue makers and repair techs with quality products and great service.

We carry brands you you'll recognize, plus some new ones of our own:
  • Endurance™ High Run Tips – favorably reviewed by Mike Berenzy at Palmetto Cue Repair
  • Cyno-Lock™ Adhesives – including rubber-toughened and low-odor options
  • CueForm™ Materials – Melamine, Micarta-style phenolic, and linen-based stock
  • Shaft cleaners, sealers, ferrules, bumpers, wraps, and more
I’m traveling in 2025 to visit builders and techs in the South East, to listen to feedback, and keep improving. If there’s something you need—or something I should be carrying—please let me know. Visit the site, take a look around, and consider placing an order to check out one of our new products!

Welcome!

You might want to post in the Cue Machinery and Supplies forum. If you come down the East Coast of Florida I would be happy to meet up with you at Anastasia Billiards in St Augustine, or Cue Note in Palm Coast. I am not a cue builder or tech but am interested in the industry, do some of my own work, and would be happy to meet you.

Thank you for the advice, and the offer to meet. If I make that far south I'll definitely take you up on that. Nice work on the cases by the way!

Hello all. New member here. I’m not good but I adore the game. 7’ table at home, moving to an 8’ soon. Thank you to the moderator approving my account!

Hello all! Mike Gonzalez here. I've been doing a golf history podcast with Bruce Devlin for over four years. It is called "FORE the Good of the Game" where we interview golf's greatest players. Soon, together with my co-hosts Allison Fisher and Mark Wilson, we will launch a yet-to-be-named cue sports history podcast and hope to partner with a governing organization to archive this content for future generations. Hope you will check it out. I will post more in the Pool History Forum.

Hi All, I've been getting back into pool lately after not playing for a few years. I'm from Ohio and I thought I'd share a few pics of my equipment. I have a Valley ZD-7 table from the late 90's era. I bought it used in January 2012 from a vending company. I have started a nice cue collection. Two Mcdermott's, a meucci, a huebler and most recently a Judd Fuller. I got two sets of vintage aramith balls. I'm getting rid of the cheapo balls and house cues it came with. I included one picture from the inside of my pool table. I'm guessing it was in a bar or something before I picked it up.

Hello to all! Newbie here. Retired air traffic controller and life long procrastinator. A few years back I picked up a Gold Crown for the ridiculous price of $400. The owners had the table set up in an open carport here in South Florida and every year or two they slapped a coat of paint on it. I think they used a cat as a paintbrush.

Unfortunately, I hired a local billiards store to disassemble the table at the sellers home and then take it to their store for restoration. In two years the only thing they managed was to find new legs for it. I finally have it back in my possession and I am retired so I have the time to do a very cautious restoration on this table just so long as my age and doctors don't wreak havoc with my free time.

Really thrilled to have found this forum as I have already found tons of info on the Gold Crown.

Welcome!

Unless you are deeply familiar with pool table restoration, you might check in here for some sage advice.

I will be focusing on the cosmetics. Some woodwork, finishing, polishing aluminum, etc. I will definitely be seeking advice or referrals to pros for anything beyond what I know I can manage. I have already realized I need someone with the strength of an Orangutan to move the pieces of slate even a few inches in my garage.

Hello everyone. Been lurking around on and off for the past year as I was deciding how serious I wanted to get with the sport.

I’ve come to the conclusion I don’t need to be a pro and it doesn’t hurt to have an account so here I am.

I’m from Northern California. Not many dedicated shops around as far as I’ve seen but plenty of halls and bars to play at.

So much to learn and discover. Thanks for having me
