Hi Bob, welcome to the forums. :) I know there are 4-5 posters on here that had a thread about a new place down there (I believe bar boxes though) and also mentioned other places to play. You may want to see the regional billiard paper, www.onthebreaknews.com and look at the back section and all the ads to find places to play.

Also, www.onthewirebilliards.com. They put out a monthly paper as well, but their online version is not as good or complete.

I know asiasdad, banks, sharandrew and UWPoolGod1 are all from down there.

Good luck. I get down there once in awhile and hope to meet you one day.

Portland area pool

There are a few decent places around here.. not nearly the amount/action of Seattle, though. Pub 181 has some pretty good players in there on a fairly regular basis, I think. Classic Billiards on Powell is pretty good, they have a separate smoking area, too.. there's a front table that you'll find people doing things like 1-pocket on and a golf game is a regular thing, too, I think. Saw Atwell in there when I made one of my rare poolhall visits a month or two ago. Umm.. Nighthawk has some good action, I hear.. they hosted one of the pechauer tour stops, I think.

I tend to stick to just a couple of bars close to me, so I really can't tell you much more than that. Oh yeah, and maybe try out KC Midway or Rodders in Oregon City.. bar tables but usually pretty busy, I think.. and Midway has a couple of diamond bar tables or something.. tough pockets for a bar player. :P

Sam's Billiards is ok, too.. haven't really been in there that much or heard about much going on, but I do know they have a snooker table (but not set up right now during the adding of a 2nd floor section) and also have a 14-1 tourney the first sunday of every month.
