Hey, man, I was on the other thread that Bob Jewett posted.

But here's my response:

Hip, hip, hooray!

I gotta give credit where credit is due. That's for sure. It is an excellent strategic move on the BCA's part to intervene in this manner. It truly is a good step in the right direction, and I hope they continue to play a part in professional pool in North America as their representative to the WPA.

[Now, a little added money to the Open pot by the BCA would really convert me to be a diehard BCA fan.]

But I'll take this BCA intervention and appreciate it to the fullest. Bravo to the BCA!

It will be interesting to see how the ABP responds. I think the press release needs to be clarified, though, if the entry fees are going to be escrowed with the added $50K. The way I read it :

The BCA is ready to begin accepting player entry fees and to escrow the $50,000 in added money for this year's U.S. Open. Mr. Behrman has stated that this added money will be submitted to the escrow account on or before September 20, one month prior to the U.S. Open.

I just think if the entry fees ARE going to be escrowed WITH the $50K, then the press release needs to read correctly to remove ANY doubt.

Just sayin...
