International Pool Tour News and Updates:

Due to strong storms and flooding in the New Hampshire area, The International Pool Tour North American Open Qualifier previously scheduled in Manchester, New Hampshire has been rescheduled and moved to Toronto, Canada. As a result of flooding, the venue in Manchester would not be able to make the needed repairs in time for the tournament.

The International Pool Tour announces that Danny Green's Billiards in Toronto, Canada will host an IPT North American Open 8-Ball Championship Qualifier June 2-5, 2006. This qualifying tournament will be a Double-Elimination competition with races to ten. The first and second place competitors will secure spots in the 2006 IPT North American 8-Ball Open Championship at the Venetian Las Vegas held on July 22-30, 2006. Players who advance to the Venetian Las Vegas will compete for their share of an unprecedented $2,000,000 prize fund and an historic first place prize of $350,000. Full entry into IPT Qualification Tournaments is $1,000, with a second option to enter for a $500 fee. Visit www.internationalpooltour.com for more information.

The International Pool Tour is the largest pool tour in the history of billiards, and represents the best pocket billiards players from 27 countries. The IPT has six major professional pool tournaments in 2006 with qualification pocket billiards tournaments throughout the world for aspiring professional pool players. Never in the history of billiards have there been tournaments to offer such large prize funds and first place prize monies.
The North American Open 8-Ball Championship will consist of 200 players, 150 IPT Members and 50 players who qualify through 25 qualification events throughout North America and abroad.

There is very limited space at these events. Entries are based on a first-come, first-serve basis. On line registration, in advance, is the only way to enter these events. The form is on the IPT web site at www.internationalpooltour.com. Do not miss this chance to compete on the International Pool Tour.

Did they have to move it to Toronto? Granted I am not aware of everything that is involved, but could they not have found somewhere in London, Essex, Shefield etc. I am just surprised that it was moved to the other side of the pond.

Players making travel arrangements will, in some cases, have to pay alot more money in expenses.

However like I said I am not acquanted with the full facts I am sure, so maybe Toronto was the only place they could get on such short notice.

600 mile move??

"Number Six" - they only moved the qualifier approx 600 miles due West of Manchester, NH. No ponds to cross until we count passing by Niagara Falls. :) However, if they moved it as you recommended to London, Essex, Sheffield, etc. then I guess everyone would have to cross the big pond to play in a North American Qualifier not being held in North America.

Well London is about a 2 hour drive from Toronto, Essex another hour and a half up the 401 ... so Toronto is pretty close. And where the heck do you get off calling one of the Great Lakes a pond ? :)

Dave, who loved the reactions of Brits when they visit Southern Ontario, we made them feel right at home by re-using pretty much all of their names, although we did not go so far as to suggest we were some kind of new-England :D :D :D

Acctually Essex is about 1 1/2 hours from London as the 401 flies. I know this because I live in Windsor( and there ain't no stinking castle:D )

Bern

I get the feeling that Cameron is gonna laugh his ass off when he comes back and sees this:)

OOPS!. Does anyone know a good rock to crawl under? I think I'll go take some reading lessons.
