hows the pool action in this state???.....any good tournaments or action games at all..any pro's play there at all???..was thinking about relocating from canada

It depends on where and when you go really. Some rooms on some days have tons of action some rooms on some days are bone dry. But there is always some good pool going on, and always has been.

Hopkins, Mizerak, Margo, Martin, Fleming, Basavich, and Colavita all cut their teeth here and thats just the few names i can rattle off the top of my head at the moment.

You won't be too hard pressed to find a game, and if you are into 14.1 you can still see on some days some fantastic straight pool being played.

Moving to Jersey? Canada won't be missing you for long.

why you say that...osnt the states in some spots a good place to be righ tnow...i work as a machinist...i got a good offer....is the economy that bad??...im just moving to a spot where i can get better at pool i can onlyu get so much better in the part of the country im in now...i figure going to teh states would make ya grind way more

Where in NJ? If in north jersey, you can basically play in the tris state area. You have the Joss tour, the tri-state tour and Robles's new predator tour. Plus local weekly tournaments. Valley forge twice a year. The big apple tourn. The charlie williams straight pool tournament. The Calovito memmorial Straight pool tournament.
There is a local tournament nearly every day of the week.

A machinist shouldn't have any problem getting a good paying job. Are you union? If so you can look forward to 100K or more with no problem.

New Jersey Action

You (anybody reading this) can easily get action in central NJ @ Big Daddys on Rt 33 Neptune 732-775-POOL Fridays & Sats @ 5:45.

I'm there every weekend.

$50-$100 sets are okay with me no matter who you are.

Bigger sets ($300-500/long sets) please call ahead and get my number.

If you EVER placed/got paid in the US Open I need weight. Anyone else is welcome!

Thanks.. Thought I would just give a local shout out. No I will not travel and bigger bets are welcomed, but I'm not leaving - nope.

Ask for Cor.

Northern New Jersey definitely has a number of places where you can get into action, and weekly tournaments abound in addition to the Joss NE and Blaze tours if you really want to test your mettle. There is definitely no shortage of pool halls in the Tri-State area.

If you see Joey Landi tell him I'm coming back for my money so he'd better brush up on that 1Pocket game! :)
