My 4-heaeded CNC milling machine take the same foot print, a bit taller, and built out of the square heavy wall tubing.

Hi Dick, your correct, it's my 4-heaeded CNC saw.. I think that one went to OB, cues, in Dallas. I've built then up to 8-heads.. 4, is better, even for a high production shop..rhncue said:

We had much fun while you were here. Are you going to the awards ceremony, in Valley Forge? It's on Saturday night, just off the main entrance. They will have signs and or directions to the room...If so, would like for your two to be with me and Suzanne at our table.. Let me know asap. I have many friends, who are going to be there for the awards show. I really would be hurt if you two didn't make it. You can also bring me some shine, if you get a chance. Thanks for the review.
Well the saw is still working fine after a couple weeks of constant use. I still want to build a fixture to replace the saw in the future similar to bluds 4 head unit. I will raise and lower the blade from underneath the saw so the z movements will be exact and no chance of cutting off your fingers when changing shafts. That is a project for another day. Chris.

The problems you will have with the blade going up and down, on your saw, is that it's on a lead screw and it goes both directions at an angle. Which means it will not go up .010 if that's what you write in your program.It will go less or more depending on the angle it's set up at from the factory... No need to worry about back-lash, because of it's weight.
My newer 4 headed saw, along with the older 2 headed saws do go straight up and down, and when you start the program, and finish the program your running, the blades are out of site, [below the table surface], so it's not hard on fingers, just need to wait for everything to stop turning before you put your hands near it. If you need some help, just call or we can visit, during the hopkins show. What booth do you have? Be glad to help you and other cuemakers..

Yes, the awards is open to the public,[ it will take place on Saturday night], just outside the up syairs main room.. and formal I think would be up to you, I'm wearing a suit and tie, Suzanne is getting all dressed up. Would like for you to be there, have many friends who are going to show up.
This will be my last SHOWING at the SHOW. Our new steak house is kickin-ass, and spring break is just around the corner, so got to take care of the feed lot.
Working on getting Willie Nelson to appear this summer a couple times, we have a dance floor out back, along with a couple washer pitchin pits, and plenty cold beer to go around.....Good sounds.......killer sound system,,,killer......

Blud. I am in booth #20 downstairs. I will pack some dress clothes for the awards ceremony. I look forward to going and meeting your new bride.
As for the restaraunt I may just have to take a trip down to see you again. I will fly this time, 13hours straight each way is too much in one weekend for me.
As for the saw I will stick with the jet saw for a while. I do want to build a fixture like your 4 headed unit for safety as well as easy writing of programs for oddball shaft tapers. But, like I said that is a future project. I will discuss it with you at the expo.
One other thought, do you remember where you got the lead screws for my inlay machine? It has the fast twist rate lead screws. I would like to know where to get replacement antibacklash nuts if I ever need them. Chris.

Mike I prefer older machines as they are usally built of better quality materials and made to last. In this case I have had so much trouble with the old saw it has driven me crazy.Michael Webb said:

CNC/saw fixture
Joey, I built that fixture, sold it to Chris a few years back. You have NO over HANG problem. NONE, It's just good solid engineering on my part. Take a look, it's got heavy duty angles, it has no rails,[ DON'T NEED ANY], It slides with ease,[ slide fits between the angle "RAILS] and it tracks straight as can be, no up and down wiggle. It also will stop at the end if something happens to your programing. Placement of the drive nut, and end coder, keeps you from cutting the drive spindle or tail stock blocks , therefore, saving your blades. My first one is still running today, and I built it 6 or 7 years ago. I sold many of these a few years back. . I sell this type, but the newer one is much better, and cost about the same as Chris's.
The fixtures, [ mechanical ones] do have a CAM ROLLER to hold it down to the table saws, top, because they have an OVER HANG PROBLEM, Mine doesn't require that. My point of view is, if you have to have over-hang, why not support the over-hang and have nothing but a FREE SLIDING fixture, that REPEATS over and again.
Sliprock also purchased one and loves it too.
