New Joey cue

So much for trying to get used to my new camera, anyway here are some pics of my new Joey Batista Sneaky Pete cue. Purple heat with a buckhorn joint. This cue is an amazing player and I will be using as my main playing cue. I tried several other shafts that I have that match the radial pin design, and the Joey shaft by far was the best. I recommend these cues to anyone looking for a great cue to play with. He even has his name molded into the rubber bumper which I think is a nice touch.

I know it's just a sneaky pete, but it really plays good. I also want to thank Bryan (bnall) for getting me this cue, and Joey for working with us.

Joey is a very good cue maker, all things considered and with Joeys building techniques and wait times between steps, it must be a win - win situation. I think you are luck guy, and that certainly looks like a great cue.

Thanks Craig.
Thank you for all the secretive tips too.
They are safe with me.

I would love to try a Filipino tapered shaft just to see what us white guys are missing out on. I can tell you that this taper is great and I get a lot of accuracy, draw, and spin with this cue. You definitely have a special gift for building great playing cues. I could sell off 120-cues and keep this one and be perfectly happy. I have always liked the playability of purple heart sneaky pete cues, but sold them for one reason or another. This one will not be sold. I also like the fatter butt, the cue just feels great.

I forgot to ask what exactly is the pin made of. I like the radial thread design, but the material is different than the G10 pins. It looks like some kind of space-age plastic.
Ted, do yourself a favor and try to get Joey to make you one.

That Filipino tapered shaft Joey makes is great. Joey sent me one and I absolutely love it. It's lower deflection and you can get crazy amounts of spin with it.

If Joey doesn't mind I will post some pics of it later...

Thanks for the advice, and I am sure that Joey wouldn't mind if you post some pics. He loves building cues as much as anyone I've ever seen. Myself and anyone else interested in his work would like to see it. That's what this thread is all about, and anyone who wants to post examples Joeys work are more than welcome to do so.

Here's the next one in line for Bantay1.
Bogey has one in the making too and it will look very different from the other sneakies.
Two exotic merry widows are near completion.
One for Yueha and one for Andy.
Thank you for the support.

Thanks for the nice comments. Certain cues just feel right, and this cue has the perfect hit for me. Not too stiff, but firm and responsive. You would think that with the combination of the purple heart blank, and the rock solid shaft, that this cue would be really stiff, but it isn't noticeable, just firm.

Nice looking cues by Joey.
Very clean work done.

Well done, Joey. :)

The staghorn joint is one of its kind as well.
I cannot think of any other cuemaker or any hobbyist who uses it for joint material.

After looking at all these cues, I am now hoping that Joey will be more "hardworking" in his "hobby" and start on my sneaky soon. :D

It is.
That bocote insert is an expensive option now.
:)

I miss that cue....remember that insert was something new you wanted to try out at the time.

Here are some pics (I have more pics but my photo program is acting up at the moment) of the Filipino tapered shaft Joey sent me. It's just a trial shaft so he didn't use the best wood (Although it's better than a lot of the shafts I've seen on higher end cues). The shaft is 12mm & weighs about 4.1 oz!:grin-loving: It really really plays great!
