I just got these e-mailed to me from Mike Cochran. Made from IQ grade African Blackwood and Bird's eye maple. Nearly complete, I can't wait to see this cue in person. All the woods were hand picked by me, and is Mike's new
design. It's gonna be my regular player for sure!:D

Yes Marcus.

Mike has his own unique taper. Butt sleeve is slightly longer. The balance is just superb on Mike's cues. His shafts are slightly different than Timmy's also.

He made me one for my Ivory Scruggs that I've been playing with now for about 6 months or so and I really like the feel of it. It's very lively and not whippy at all.

I have been considering a TS and I think MC does an incredible job. A stiffer taper is what I prefer as well. Congratulations on the cue.

Ralph, that is a very attractive design....simple & clean, yet unique. I just love it when those veneer colors are used in a traditional cue with a little abalone !!

I just think the world of Mike and Tim's cues as many of you know. When I brought down the blanks for Mike to use on this cue, I hadn't figured out the veneer colors yet and wasn't sure how the Blackwood would look finished off. I trusted Mike on his choice of veneer colors to match and I think it turned out great! It's got the traditional look with a twist of contemporary without being too fancy.
It has the flat faced Ivory sleeve joint with radial pin, which should prove to be an awesome player. I'll put up some more pics after I get it back here.

Mike Cochran has a way of making a simply designed cue so beautiful you just look at the cue and say aloud what a georgous cue! There balance and feel is perfection.
Mike uses the same tapper as Timi does on his cues. He does have a new set up that allows him to precisely do any tapper you may choose to custom order including parabolic type tappers.
I think Mike told me his ivory joints are not sleeved even his new design joints are full ivory joints.

Fyi, Mike made this joint like yours only Ivory sleeved. The butt cap is made from a new material called Elforyn.
