New Money, New Mindset, New Era...

This may be premature, but I was just wondering what the future mindset of the Pro players will be. The ones who have just played in the KOH event and also the ones who will be chosen in the future have now had a taste of Big Money. Will they want to travel to the other future events knowing of the much smaller finanacial returns in comparison to the recent KOH? What will be their mindset? It is not to difficult to take a moment and imagine what possibly is going thru all of their minds.

I recently participated in a 2,000.00 added event...50 players and placed 7/8...I received 100.00... this scenario is all too real for many of us going to regional events around the country. Of course...this world will remain and I wonder if the big guns will attend in the same numbers as in the past? The comparing of "should I go and place fairly well in events but not place in the top 4 and only collect peanuts again". These kinds of thoughts are sure to happen for many of the champs.

What do you guys think the mindset will be for the Champions of the game???

Mindsets?

You bring up an intresting point.
For many, I would think that it would put things in a whole new perspective. It seems obvious to me, that they would go to work harder than ever before in life.
I think many of the regionals will take a hit as far as the BIG GUNS go, but that just opens the door for so many others that have had the "what's the use" attitude. Personally I feel it is going to breathe a little fresh air into the game and raise the competitive bar.
The pros had better take an honest look at this and realise that this may not go on forever, for whatever reasons,( not that I wish that) and capitolize as best they can. The first is over with and now it is time for the best to step forward and take what he can. That will be done by those who want it most and willing to be razor sharp. I just can't imagine what more would inspire a person to go to work and hit everything he can and work his butt off to gain sharpness and a winning attitude.
There is a price to pay for everything and it can be costly. This type of oppritunity has never come along before and may not again in our generation.

If you look at auto racing. There are 100's of small tracks that have races every weekend. I don't think that anyones cares if the big guns don't show up. Most fans and dirvers are there because they love the sport. If there is a big race in the area a few drivers will show.

The same is for minor league baseball. They have their following and a lot of times it is more fun.

All the little venues help support the big ones because they are the feeders. When someone becomes too good they move on to the bigger payday.

Hopefully the big payoffs and tournaments will be around for a long time.
