All players will be taking their break shot within a marked area measuring 4.25 inches (11cm) and extending from the centre of head string to the short rail. The balls will be racked with the 9 ball on the spot and players will be asked to do their best.

Everyone, according to this, has to break straight head on and there's no other criteria? Can anyone confirm?

4 1/4" gives very little angle...yes. Johnnyt

Hope we don't hear anymore whining about the rack with the 9 ball on the spot. It has been in effect since 2007 or 2008.
