Whats up everyone,
i just wanted to give a review for my new Olney ss jointed cue. It is the bottom cue in the pics. the be maple and black handled ss jointed cue. No surprise to me now that everything that Jeff makes plays very good and consistent. The cue moves the ball with ease and has a very clean hit when hitting the ball. He put a tad tip on it for me to try and I really like the way it plays. It has a super hard hit which is right up my alley. I want to thank Jeff for making this cue for me and for making cues for me in the past also. If anyone hasn't tried one, the playability is tip top knotch along with the craftsmanship also. The cues I have with rings at the joint all line up perfect, which you don't see often with many. He definitely takes pride in building a great cue and is CONSISTENT from one cue to the next. I have three plain janes coming next and thinking of what wood combos to order a 10 pointer or two next. Keep up the great work Jeff, and thanks alot.

Awesome cue man!

I have a 1/2 Stainless Joint ordered from Jeff as well, so I'm glad to hear it's everything I hoped it would be.

Congrats on your new cue, and Kudos to Jeff for making his great players even better!

How do you think the half joint plays in comparison to a full stainless joint ?

Can you tell any difference ?

Do cue makers use a half joint just for the purpose of balancing out a cue or for weight purposes, or does it have a different hit than a full joint ?

Thanks for your anticipated reply, just trying to learn something here :)

Tommy, both weight and balance, takes a little off the front end and also can use a slightly heavier shaft by appox. .3 oz. while keeping the balance. a full 1 inch ss joint collars combine with a brass insert in the shaft add up to alot of forward weight, would be very forward balance but some like them like that. Love your cues !!

Tommy, sometimes the balance and weight is a little tricky say if someone wanted 19.0 ss joint cue. handle weight like shaft weight can vary up to an one oz. the A joint pin would be lighter, shaft weight maybe a little lighter, and shorten up the ss joint and also most cue butts are thinner now. they make a 5/16- tit. pin now which helps too, all this helps to get the cue at a balance 19 oz. ss jointed cue.
