New Petree Cue

I was interested in his cues but I didnt know anyone on the boards who have ever used one. How do you like the hit of the cues?
 
Man, there are so many cuemakers out there that make beautiful cues. I really need to hit the lottery to the tune of a couple hundred million...lol!

He has the shaft figured out. Firm, almost stiff hit, but you can put as much action as you want on the ball. Really the best hit I've ever felt. JW is not well known outside of Oklahoma (and a few fans like me in Florida). But the players who use his cues swear by them . . . . and they are strong players.

Talk to JW and he can make a fine sneaky pete for you and it will hit as good as my fancy one - maybe better :p
 
I really like that inlay design you came up with for the sleeve. Lot's of class, and not too busy. Maybe you could end up being a "Fashion Designer" for the cue world :D .

;) petree's cues are great. Here are pix of fancy sneaky pete i have. I liked it so much that he is building two more cues for me. I like the way it feels and the workmanship is beyond reproach.

Like JW says in the description of my cue in the link above, he and I are talking about collaborating on several aspects of the cue making. I'm hoping it works out because he has great skills and is one of the best all-around people I've ever met.

You'd have to check with JW on what it would cost now. This one was a 1+ year labor of love for both he and I. And we (ok, HE) had several challenges trying to do what I wanted. Just one of the challenges was 12" long solid ivory mitred veneers - not recut. He's had the cost question from about 4 -5 people who saw the cue, so he can answer it.

Ditto what mocbc says. JW already has another "old fashioned" looking cue in progress for me and we've designed another with ebony and curly koa into pink ivory. They'll both be stunners too! :)

I plan to post pics of my small cue collection soon - my old PC died and I'm trying to retrieve files from it! IMHO, it's an interesting group of older, established cue makers and some up-and-comers.

I have had and sold a few of his cues, and never heard anything but raves. J/b's, S/p's, custom, they all hit sweet. Put his name down for the best in customer service too although that goes back to when he was making j/p's. No one I know who got one of his cues ever needed customer service or said anything other than .... THANKS!! Can you do this again?

Up here in Seattle there are a few JW's running aorund, including a J/B in my case. I love it, .....turns heads when I pop a rak with that thing.

There are several currently successful and high-profile pro players who would love to play with Petree cues if they were not already locked up with committments to other cues. The man makes a great playing cue.

Ok. I'm startin' to sound like a groupie. :o
