New pool room in Columbus HAD potential.

When I heard a new pool room was opening in Columbus, I was ecstatic. I drove by and met the owner to ask what kind of equipment he would have. The place is HUGE, with a full restaurant and bar and television and projection screens everywhere. As this was his first pool-related venture, he couldn't remember the kinds of tables he'd ordered, or the cloth, or the balls - you get the picture. All he did was ask for "the best". Immediately, I thought Diamonds or Gold Crowns. Imagine my disappointment when I learned that he got:

  • 22 nine-foot and eight-foot LEGACY tables.
  • Cloth is unknown, but it isn't Simonis. And no green, blue, or even taupe. They sold him PURPLE, RED, AND YELLOW.
  • Aramith balls - one saving grace, but still... PURPLE, RED, AND YELLOW CLOTH on LEGACY TABLES.

I told him I'd like the name of his dealer so I can kill him.

That is SAD!

I recommend you move to Greenville. I'm amazed, since moving here, how many good pool rooms there are in a relatively small town.

Yellow???? Ew god, the chalk marks on it are probably horrible.

It sounds like this dealer sold him everything he couldn't unload onto other unsuspecting customers. However, I don't think you should kill the dealer. Torture him first and make him suffer.

There was a bar/pool hall up in Atlanta some years ago that had every table covered in purple cloth. It was an abomination. :D

Of course, this place was trying to be a hip nightclub type place at the same time, so it kinda... fit. :/

Were the salesman initials KT??

there's a place here in montana that used to be called "pinkies",{not even the name anymore} they have 20-25 tables covered in, you guessed it,horrendous bright pink cloth, who the hell makes that crap anyway. The first couple hours you play on it you have a headache but it goes away after a while.

That is what happens when you pour a bunch of money into a business you know nothing about.

Played in a large room in VEGAS that had all the tbles covered in pink. The longer I played the worse my headache got. The only redeeming qualities the joint had was the wet T shirt and "amatuer" dance contests:)

Played in a old poolroom in Russell Springs kentucky once, that had a table where all the rails were covered in a different color.

:D as the saying goes "it takes an awful lot of that to kill a guy":D

I know of a local place that has Zebra stripe style cloth on the rails and Green Simonis on the beds of three or four of their tables all of which are Brunswick Medalists. I think the Zebra style cloth might even be furry!! The rest of the tables are done the normal way. Other than those freaky tables it is a pretty nice room:D

I did a pool table for an up and coming rapper. He had a safety orange bed. With every rail a different color. Bright colors too. He also had it in a house probably worth around a million dollars with kaki and neutral colors. (I must sound Faaabulous)

Thank God I don't have to cover that pool hall. I couldn't live with those colors... Wait. Yes I could because I wouldn't be playing on them but I'd be paid for them. So I guess I'd get the green.

You could have everyone "accidently" spill their drinks on the cloth and say "It wouldn't happen with tournament green Simonis".

Omg that is awful. I am crying for you, thats just a crime. I would break in at night with a saw and ruin them all. That would make me so happy do destroy all of those crappy tables.

Eric.

A friend recently got a table done up in blue and orange - I forget which is which, the rails and the main part of the table. He's a big Broncos fan. :/

First off, i would have asked the guy how much he paided for the tables and then told him he could have gotten the Diamonds for X amount lol

I would have then told him to tell the dealer to take back everything, and replace it with Diamonds, because those are the best tables. And tell the dealer, that he wanted THE BEST!!!! not third or 4th best, if they are even that.

Cloth

Those wild colors of cloth make me instantly think that it is some type
of kids place, like a video arcade that just happens to have Pool tables.

Shooter here though, did cover their 9 ball Challenge table in Nascar cloth, which is red, yellow, and black. It is real nice trying to see angles
on the end rails with Black cloth underneath.

I know! I wanted him to buy the Diamonds that Mike Janis was brokering out, but he insisted he had gotten the best.:(
