NEW... Predator cloth.............

A friend of mine bought a diamond table used in the the Las Vegas open, it has the predator cloth on it. Seems like very nice cloth, very similar to simonis.
It seems to me that when anybody wants to praise a new cloth, they do so by saying “it plays similar to Simonis“. My response tends to be, if that’s your standard for excellence, why not just play Simonis?! 😁

Cost is sometimes a factor. With myself I wanted to help support a cloth maker that has a headquarters in my region, they have been producing tourneys with pros in a area where pros are almost never seen. Andy cloth plays very nice, it was about $100 less, my last two tables had Simonis cloth on them.

The price of the Predator cloth is almost identical to 860hr.

I’ve played on Andy too. Not bad, but it’s not Simonis. I understand what you’re saying, but if someone is genuinely concerned with how the cloth plays, I would hope that a few dollars one way or another wouldn’t be the deciding factor. Then again, different strokes... 😊

My place recently installed ANDY 988. No one can tell it apart. Looks, feels, plays exactly the same. Price was WAY better. They tested it on one table first and wear was the same if not better. Very good cloth.

When I ordered Andy cloth I talked several times to the rep in Saratoga, he said one of the characteristics of the cloth that when it was worn and dirty it would play very much the same as when it was new. Of course he had a job of talking me into buying it but I have heard others say the same. In my opinion Andy is not quite as refined as Simonis but I can't tell a difference by the way the balls roll, fast and straight.

I hear Predator cloth is a very good product.

Also, now that its been out for a while, how is Royal Pro doing? I like that it is synthetic and doesn't hold water. It got a lot of scoffing for being a direct competitor to Simonis.
