Did you ever find out what kind of wood that is?
From the color and grain pattern, I would say Goncola Alves. Very nice looking cue, and a real steal...you can't buy a sneaky pete for that price.
Really sweet offering, Randy.

that may be true now, but just a few years ago his PJ cues were between $300 and $350 new depending on the wood.
where in north mississippi are you located, I might like to take a look at it tomorrow while I'm in Memphis if I can. Thanks a lot!

That being said, it's still a good deal and I am sure it plays nice and stiff.
Umm, this is not exactly accurate.
I have owned MOST AB cues that he EVER made, including from his old shop in Memphis. Between Adam, Mason and myself, I doubt anything has left Alex's shop that we haven't bought, sold or at least took a gander at.
I do believe that you're thinking of Alex's J/B cues, before he started using that awesome Dymondwood.
He has never (at least not in 10 years) sold a wrapped PJ with his signature ringwork for $3xx.
THIS IS A STEAL, folks!!

I don't have a dog in this fight, but...
I have owned a few Alex Brick cues, and I don't remember seeing a nice one like this for $300. Goncola Alves is a great playing wood. It and Pao Fero were Jerry Franklin's favorites for playability. I don't think you can find any "known" cuemaker's cues in the $300 range. The only item I see holding the price down on this cue is the economy....what a great time to be a buyer!!
