The new room in Dallas I posted about a couple of months ago is coming along nicely and should be open by at least May 1st.

Greg Sullivan of Diamond Tables delivered the tables personally this past weekend to over see the set up himself. There are tree tables which are IPT cut which means 4 1/2 inch pockets with Simonis and they play just great. They are tight, but not ridiculously so and have a very nice speed and not real slick. There are also 5 other 9 footers with about 4 3/4 inch pockets {guessing as I didn't measure those which play the same. Near perfectly, as they can.

Diamonds is located at 10601 New Chrch Road which is just one block off I-635 and Plano road in North Dallas. It is very easy to find. Just take 635 to Plano rd, turn west, to the first light and turn right and it's the 3rd building on the right.

We plan a Grand Opeining event somwhere around June after the BCA event in Vegas. We plan to begin with a Thursday ring game with a buy-in of about $1500. Someone should be able to win about $20000.

Friday -Sunday of the same weekend we plan a 1-pocket event with at least $4000 added and an entry of about $250. Many matches and finals will be available via the internet with many more details forthcoming next week.

The rumor is true, no smoking and no booze. It will however be a BYOB place.

The other rumor is also true, yes we are going to cater to action and big matches which will be available via the the internet. We want to bring big pool to the living room and we are going to offer the players the place and atmosphere to do it. They are going to love playing at Diamonds.

We will have a much more detailed report coming in about a week to 10 days.
Be watching though as this is going to be exciting.

We already have our 1st challenge match which I will post about in another thread.

Watch for the web-ssite soon also, pool_action.com.

Don, this sounds like a nice pool room and a nice event. Please keep us posted on the one pocket tournament as it sounds very interesting. I would love to hear the payout percentages.

Wow, this sounds exciting! This might be end up being the modern incarnation of Detroit's The Rack.

Good luck and Best Wishes!

This hasn't been disscussed yet, but I assume we will pay out 25% of the field as normal. We will talk it over and decide though.

I'm not sure anyone could buld anything to compare to The Rack, but, it wonn't be from lack of effort.

Don, do you have the percentages that are commonly used for each place?

32, 64 or 128?
Thanks,
JoeyA

You Can Tell The Players In The Area Are Ready For It To Get Started, Myself And Jason Just Stopped By To Take A Look At The Place And Before You Know It We Were Helping Move The Tables In And Then B4 You Know It More Players Were Showing Up And They Too Helped, Every1 Cant Wait For The Room To Get Open , Because The Atmosphere And The Equimpent Are Going To Be The Best Around By Far. I Think And Hope The Action Is Going To Blow Up Here In Dallas. There Is Action Now In All Ranges But There Should Diffantely Be Action When The Room Gets Open. It Just Goes To Show You Dont Have To Play That Good To Get Your Fix On What You Want To Bet, Just Come On Down And Try It , Some1 Will Be There To Accomodate Your Needs.

You and Jason were a great help too. We appreciate it.

I think you are right and hope this place will help Dallas "light it up".

There is a lot of talent in Dallas and all will benefit and improve from this.

We certainly hope so and ache to bring something special to Texas and the pool world.

We anticipate bringing some great matches and match-ups. It will take a lot of work, but that never killed anyone.

32 and 64 percentages are contained within Ingen v2.3 tournament software.
Just google 'Ingen', go to their site and download the free copy, you can run 5 tournaments free before you have to register. The payout, if you put the number of players in it will show the normal percentages used for paying out places. (the table will show percentages without having to run a tournament).
