While playing 14.1 league the other night. I played a safe and froze my opponent to a ball. His play was to shoot the cue ball to the rail with a little left spin and put me on the short rail. OK I knew this was coming.
So before he shot he says that the cue ball is frozen to the object ball.
I say ok. He says no come look. Ok I look and it's frozen. He plays his safe and we continue.
Was there a reason he wanted me to know it was frozen?
I've been playing this game for over 50 years and nobody has ever done that.
Is there a new rule?

There is no new rule about this, but the old rule does require the referee to declare a ball frozen or it's not frozen. If he played a thin hit on the frozen ball, it doesn't really make any difference if they were frozen or not. If the ball moves, it's a hit. If he played a fuller hit, then the ball had to be frozen or it might have been a double hit.

I've never had anyone demand that I look if I agreed from my chair with their call. That's a little strange.

So was my opponent.
The handicap was I go to 80 and he goes to 66.
He won the game 66 to 78 and thought the handicap was not fair. I said you won by 2 balls how could it not be fair. He says" I (him) played great and you (me) played bad" ? WTF I ran 26 balls and fell 2 balls short of running out. Thats playing bad?
