Very interesting! An article posted today on http://www.matchroompool.com/page/MosconiCup/NewsDetail/0,,12660~1893224,00.html

details the 2 new rules as well as provides an excellent day by day, match by match lineup.

The captains will twice get to choose a singles player from the OTHER TEAM!

And, for the 7 doubles matches, pairings may NOT be repeated. I don't know if these changes help one team more than another.

2 days to go people!

Getting picked to play by the opposing captain has to be a bit of an insult!

"I picked YOU, because you are most likely to SUCK!"

That will make someone fired up. However, if that player dogs it, ouch. That could leave a deep psychological mark.

Brutal. Just brutal.

Intriguing........ I still think that Match 1 AND 21 should be team matches. Why fight so hard for four days and then put all the weight on 1 player to lose or win it for you. Especially with the new rules encouraging more evenly distributed playing time between the players. Just my thoughts.....

It's like getting picked last for kickball at recess.

is this going to be streamed? if yes by who and how much??

Not streamed....but the whole event will be live in the UK on Sky Sports.....you will be able to watch the whole event live by using one of the P2P sites .....I would suggest http://www.myp2p.eu

By the way I had my honeymoon in Boston in September. Beautiful City i loved every minute of it. Some of the best Italian food I have ever had.

We are also going to be providing a lot of extras for the website each day, like video profiles of the players, daily wrap ups and interviews so check out www.matchroompool.com throughout the event.

Cris, when you say "we" are you referring to Inside Pool or do you also have a gig with Matchroom? I trust you'll get to enjoy some of the action or are your duties so rigorous that they wipe you out?

(BTW Apocalypse, to further answer your question, the stream is free)

I think the rule about not being allowed with the same pair for all double-mathces will increase Team USA's chances. Last year Europe let Niels Feijen and Ralf Souquet play nearly all double-matches, and I don't think they lost one of their matches.

I'd have to agree with you Roy. Additionally, I think the betting line should reflect that, so instead of the 4 to 1 odds you were giving, I guess I'm now ok with 7 to 2.
